Study Hebrews with Women at the Well!
LaGrange First Church of God invites you to join Women at the Well in a 10-week study beginning March 4. The LifeWay study Better focuses on the book of Hebrews.. In this verse-by-verse, video-driven study, author and teacher Jen Wilkin explores how God “provided something better for us” in the person of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11:40). Through stories of Old Testament heroes and practices, the author of Hebrews demonstrates how the new covenant is superior to the old and how Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of every promise. Two sessions will be offered on Thursdays beginning March 4 at 4:15 and 6 p.m. Please sign up on the Facebook wall for Women at the Well or by texting Ingrid Lochamire at 260-336-3383. Study Hebrews with Women at the Well!

Due to February’s beautiful winter weather, the plan to complete the study of 1 Peter has been canceled. Come back to church in March to join Women at the Well in a 10-week study of the book of Hebrews titled Better. In this verse-by-verse, video-driven study, Jen Wilkin explores how God “provided something better for us” in the person of Jesus Christ (Heb. 11:40). Through stories of Old Testament heroes and practices, the author of Hebrews demonstrates how the new covenant is superior to the old and how Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of every promise. Explore familiar verses in context of the entire Bible, learning how to place your hope and faith in Christ alone. Two sessions will be offered on Thursdays beginning March 4 at 4:15 and 6 p.m. Please sign up here on the Facebook wall for Women at the Well or by texting Ingrid Lochamire at 260-336-3383. Books can be ordered through Amazon or Christian Book Distributors (cost is $14) or through Ingrid ($15).

Join us for Pop-Up Prayer this Thursday, September 10, 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the courthouse square in LaGrange. Gather at the gazebo and we'll saturate our community and one another in prayer. "For such a time as this."

Do you find your prayer life growing stale sometimes? Do you forget what you’ve prayed about in the past? Does prayer feel like a daily task to mark off your list? Is it filled with anticipation, worship and awe or obligation and indifference?

This was me. Wondering all of these questions, I knew I needed a change of heart. I needed a fresh perspective on prayer to get back to the purpose of meeting with God.

When I started Bible journaling, it revived my prayer life, and it helped me find the devotion, alertness and thankfulness Colossians 4:2 speaks about: “Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.”

Prayer is our breath, our words, our actions, our listening ear. It’s also the stroke of a pen and the vibrant colors we use to describe and worship God. What a joy to be in awe of God in the midst of creativity.

Prayer is all about connection with God. It’s engaging with the Creator of the Universe, and sometimes it’s done with artful expression. My stale prayer life radically changed as I used creativity to express and capture my moments with God.

Please join us beginning Thursday, September 24, for a nine-week video-driven study of I Peter. Jen Wilkin, whose studies on James and Hebrews have blessed us in the past, leads us in claiming our "living hope in Christ." This is a message we need for such a time as this. We're offering two weekly session at 4:15 and 6:30 p.m., meeting in the Commons to accommodate social distancing. Masks must be worn upon entering the building. Each session will last about 75 minutes. You'll have five days of homework. Weekly sessions will be facilitated by members of Women's Ministry and will stay on the same weekly schedule so that you can attend either time slot, depending on your availability. The cost for a study book is $15.

Please make time to gather for fellowship and study. During this season, we have lost touch with one another. It's time to reconnect. God created us for community. We can do this!

Leave a message here if you plan to attend one of the sessions and we'll make sure you have a book at the opening session.

Join Jen Wilkin in 1 Peter, a 9-session Bible study.
