Body of Christ Ministries was founded in 2000 by Pastor Andrew Rourke and recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization at that time. The goal has always been to fulfill the great commission and bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. We have served our Lord in capacities as associate pastors at local churches from Galveston to Houston. We deliver milk to the children of The Ronald McDonald Home i
n Galveston and have conducted fund raisers to provide plush stuffed dolls for the burned children that reside there. We organized a multi-cultural prayer meeting for the citizens of Galveston when the United States went to war with Iraq. Pastor Rourke has preached weekly services at multiple retirement homes in our area showing God's Love to those who are lost and forgotten. Our effort has always been to reach the lost for the Lord in an engaging and informative way. Body of Christ Ministries has been 90% self funded since the inception with gracious donors making up the remaining 10%. Pastor Rourke served his community as a firefighter for 20 years, reaching the rank of Captain and receiving a few commendations. In 2012, Pastor Rourke left the fire service and devoted himself to full-time ministry. In 2013, Body of Christ Ministries held a 3 day tent revival that resulted in multiple salvations, a blind man reading from the bible and a crippled woman dancing! Later in the same year we led a relief effort to Moore, Oklahoma after a devastating tornado cut a swath destruction through the town and left multiple fatalities, including seven children at a grade school. Seven men, including Pastor Rourke traveled in Christ's Command Center (a 1995 Class A Motorhome) with a U-haul full of donated supplies from around the community. The most important thing we brought with us was compassion, caring and God's Love.
