So, a little backstory (from Beth)…
This October will mark 17 years since our family experienced the traumatic reality of losing everything we owned in a house fire.
At the time, I was only 23 years old with 3 babies. My husband and I didn’t have much, but we were trying our best to build a life for our family. We had moved into a house after his father passed away, planning to fix it up one piece at a time so his younger siblings could have it one day.
The house wasn’t insured yet because, honestly, we just couldn’t afford it at the time. We were young and learning as we went. I wasn’t working because our youngest baby wasn’t even 3 months old yet, and although he had found a job, it didn’t pay much.
Losing everything was devastating.
But I will forever be thankful for the families, churches, and people in our community who stepped in and helped us start over. We never forgot that kindness.
The Bible tells us to use what we’ve been through to help others:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
That scripture is where the heart behind this benefit was born.
This year, we are helping TWO families who are walking through a similar tragedy. We are choosing to protect their privacy, so we will not be sharing personal details unless they choose to themselves.
We are asking our community to come together once again and help us turn tragedy into testimony.
Please come out, support this benefit, share this post, invite others, and help us make a difference for these families. Every prayer, donation, vendor, sponsor, and share matters more than you know. ❤️
