Fields of Grace Weekly Announcements

1) Sunday, September 6, 9:30 a.m., joint communion service at First Lutheran; fellowship to follow.

2) Sunday, September 13, 8:30 a.m., communion service with backpack & harvest blessing at First Lutheran; 9:30 a.m., fellowship at both churches; 10:30 a.m., communion service with backpack & harvest blessing at Bernadotte (bring your tractors to church). 6:30 p.m., required meeting for confirmation students and parents; 7:15 p.m., National ELCA Youth Gathering Meeting for 8th-12th grade students and their parents who are interested in attending. (Youth Gathering will be in Minneapolis June 28-July 2, 2027.)

3) Bernadotte Opportunity Tickets are available. To get tickets, see any BLC council member or members of BLC’s fundraising committee (Nancy Reinhart, Trish Gieseke, Elias Webster, John Petterson, or Jim and Konnie Bartels). The drawing will be October 1.

4) An open bridal shower for Kaylyn Broste will be held September 19, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran. The couple is registered on Amazon.

5) Bernadotte will hold a spaghetti dinner Sunday, September 27 at the Lafayette Community Center, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

6) Rally Sunday for Sunday School will be Sunday, September 27 after a 9:30 a.m. joint service at Bernadotte.

Fields of Grace Weekly Announcements

1) Sunday, August 30, 9:30 a.m., worship at First Lutheran; fellowship to follow.

2) Sunday, September 6, 9:30 a.m., joint communion service at First Lutheran; fellowship to follow.

3) FLC members are encouraged to attend the August 30 church service for a discussion afterwards in regards to parking lot repairs, as well as stump removal.

4) A Blessing of the Harvest and Farm Families will be held during services at both churches Sunday, September 13 (8:30 at FLC and 10:30 at BLC), Tractors brought to the parking lot at Bernadotte will be blessed after the service. (Not enough room to do that at First.)

5) That same morning (September 13), the Sunday School students are asked to bring their school backpacks to church. Pastor Bruce will ask God’s blessings on the backpacks, students, and school year.

6) There will be two important meetings for FOG youth and parents Sunday, September 13 at First Lutheran. The first, at 6:30 p.m., is a required meeting for confirmation students and parents. The second, at 7:15 p.m., is for 8th-12th grade students (and their parents) who are interested in taking part in the National ELCA Youth Gathering in Minneapolis June 28-July 2, 2027.

1) Sunday, August 23, 9:30 a.m., outdoor Music with a Message worship with music by Larry Mages at Bernadotte Church Park; fellowship to follow; 7:30 p.m., BLC council.

3) First Lutheran fellowship room carpeting will be cleaned Tuesday morning, August 25. WELCA is paying the cost. Contact Jorja Langhoff if you are able to help remove chairs and tables.

3) We express our sympathy to the family of Doug Rood, father of Jennifer Bringle, who passed away Tuesday, July 21. His memorial service will be held at Redemption Lutheran Church, Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, Saturday, August 1, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. May God continue to strengthen and comfort his family.

4) Pastor Bruce is on vacation through Sunday, August 2. In his absence, Pastor Bob Miner will be available for pastoral concerns. He can be reached at 320-296-1800.

5) First Lutheran is looking into the repair/replacement of the church’s blacktop parking lot. Sections are in dire need of repair. Some quotes have been received. As this is a huge undertaking, the church council is looking for ideas and other companies to get quotes from. To do the entire parking lot upgrade would require a big fundraising drive. Please bring any ideas to a church council member— Carmen Broste, Jean Ahl, Sara Kanuch, Stacy Reinhart, Jeff Donnay, Charlie Hartley, and Sandy Burger. The council will meet in early August.

It was a bit warm but, with a breeze blowing through the trees, we were relatively comfortable for the outdoor Music with a Message service in the Bernadotte Church Park. The Norells of Norseland provided teh music and message. Thank you to them!

The Fields of Grace youth served the Friday evening social in Lafayette, dishing up pulled pork sandwiches or hot dogs, beans, potato salad or chips, and ice cream sundaes. The Friday evening band concert that followed was moved indoors because of the heat—making it much more pleasant. It' a great Friday evening tradition.
