Yesterday, to end our "Little Chefs" week, our Summer Camp kids spent the day preparing meals for the St Barnabas Lafayette Food Pantry!

We talked about how Jesus calls us to love our neighbors and help them as we are able, which includes feeding those in need. Then our campers prepped, cooked, packaged, and labeled 28 to-go boxes of spaghetti, seasoned green beans, and garlic bread. We were able to fill the St. Barnabas pantry fridge!

Congratulations to our 2025-2026 Little Lambs Teacher of the Year: Ms. Mailee!!! ๐ŸŽ‰

Ms. Mailee is one of our Pre-K4 teachers and has been at Little Lambs for about 2 years. When we asked Ms. Mailee to teach the Pre-K4 class this year, we had a very specific vision for this classroom and it's future. Ms. Mailee has exceeded our expectations. Her classroom is cozy, and calm, yet fun and inspiring. She invites her students to lean into their child-like wonder, sillyness, and playfulness, but also encourages independence and growth. She has given them the skills to prepare them for kindergarten, but most importantly, she has planted seeds for them to develop a love for learning and confidence in a school environment.

Ms. Mailee has the biggest heart. She approaches each of her students with a smile, patience, and grace, and meets them exactly where they are, making them feel seen and heard. But this isn't limited to her classroom - Ms. Mailee knows every child in our program by name and gives each of them love and attention with every interaction. Everyone at Little Lambs knows and adores Ms. Mailee!

When she is not in her classroom, she can be found helping us set up for an event, lending a hand to a co-worker, or stepping in when needed to run our afternoon carline. She is easy going, slow to anger, and brings a fun spirit to our team.

It is evident Ms. Mailee has a gift and was called to be an early childhood educator. She is beyond deserving of this recognition, and we are blessed to have her on our team.

We love you, Ms. Mailee!!! ๐ŸŒธ

Ms. Ashton is one of our Orange Room teachers. She has been with Little Lambs for 1 year. Ms. Ashton is calm, cool, and collected. She always has a positive attitude, is a team player, and is always willing to help others. She is wonderful with the kids and leads with patience and grace. We are so thankful to have Ms. Ashton on our team! ๐ŸŒผ

Congrats to the St. Barnabas Little Lambs Class of 2026! Oh, the places they will go!

We had our Pre-K Graduation ceremony yesterday! Though we are sad to see them leave us, we know they are more than ready for "big kid" school! As they go on their way, may they always remember they are important, they are loved, and they are enough. ๐Ÿ’œ

Our hearts are broken for this young woman, her family and friends, the other victims, and the entire Ascension Episcopal School community.

Many of our Little Lambs families move on to Ascension Episcopal School as their little ones grow up. We stand together with their community in sorrow and hold them close in prayer. May God's love bring each of them comfort, peace, and strength during this difficult time. ๐Ÿ’™

Today, our hearts are heavy.

We grieve the loss of one of our seniors, Martha Odom, following yesterdayโ€™s off-campus tragedy. We continue to lift in prayer the two students who are healing, as well as the two additional students who were present.

Ascension Episcopal School carries this cross togetherโ€” we are holding one another close with an immense amount of faith and love.

Her classmates, Ascension faculty, and our Blue Gator families remember Martha as a joyful presence whose kindness and infectious enthusiasm brought light to all who knew her.

In the midst of sorrow, we are reminded: โ€œThe Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.โ€ (Psalm 34:18)

We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from near and far. Our priority at this time is to care for the hearts and minds of our students, families, and staff.

๐Ÿ™ We ask for continued prayersโ€”for healing, for peace, and for the strength to carry one another forward.

Happy Easter! โœ๏ธ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฃ

April is Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month! ๐Ÿ’™

Everyone is unique. Every brain is different. But one thing we all have in common... we want to be included.

Differences should not only be tolerated, but considered, embraced, and respected. When we acknowledge and accept different ways of experiencing the world, we create spaces where every child can belong and feel seen, heard, and loved.
