What we’re suffering now isn’t even comparable to what’s coming. 🙌

Today’s message, “To Live Is Christ; To Die Is Gain,” was a powerful reminder that following Jesus doesn’t mean life will be free from trials. Scripture tells us there will be hard seasons, but it also reminds us that those seasons do not get the final word.

Romans 8:18 tells us that our present suffering cannot compare with the glory that is coming.

And it leaves us with a challenging question:

What are you willing to suffer through for your faith?

In parts of the world, Christians face persecution, imprisonment, and even death for openly following Jesus. Yet they continue to choose Him.

Our trials may look different, but the call remains the same: keep going, keep trusting, and keep your eyes on Jesus.

God can use the hard seasons to build perseverance, strengthen our character, deepen our faith, and produce hope.

The suffering is temporary. The promise is eternal.

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21

Today, we gathered around the Lord’s Table in communion, remembering the incredible sacrifice Jesus made for each of us.

Through Pastor Bob’s message, we were reminded that transformation begins with the questions we ask. Last week, we reflected on Saul’s question:

“Who are You, Lord?” Acts 9:5

Today, we were challenged to keep asking just like Saul:

“What shall I do, Lord?” Acts 22:10

One of the biggest takeaways from today’s message was this: Stop disqualifying yourself.

God has never called perfect people. He calls willing people. If He’s calling you, He already knows your past, your weaknesses, and your doubts. Don’t let fear convince you that you’re not enough when God says you are called for a purpose.

As we begin a new week, may we continue asking the right questions, listening for His voice, and responding with willing hearts.

This morning through Pastor Bob’s message, “Learning to Ask the Right Questions,” we were reminded that God can use a single question to change the course of a life, just as He did with Saul.

“Who are You, Lord?” Acts 9:5

May we continue seeking Him, listening for His voice, and allowing Him to transform our hearts.

As you go into this week, ask the same question Saul did: “Who are You, Lord?” You may be surprised by how God reveals Himself when we seek Him with an open heart.

This Saturday, May 9th, 2026, is our final Community Breakfast for the season. We hope you can join us. Thank you to everyone who has joined us in fellowship and has supported our youth and missions groups. We are so grateful for a loving and generous community. The Youth of Bluffton First and Lafayette Methodist will be hosting a Baked Spaghetti Fundraiser on April 30th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at 116 Church St. Bluffton, OH. Meals include Baked Spaghetti (from Henry's Restaurant in Ottawa), a breadstick, and a salad. Tickets are available at the door and are $12 for adults and $8 for children. All proceeds will support our youth program and activities. Dine-in and Carryout will be available. Thanks for your support!
