Guadalupe Flood Relief Special Offering — Rio Texas Conference

Updated: 07/04/25 2:05 p.m. As we continue to assess the impact of the flooding along the Guadalupe River and surrounding communities, one of the most effective ways you can help right now is through financial gifts.

Bishop Harvey and our Disaster Response Team encourage churches and individuals to contribute to our Rio Texas Conference Disaster Response Advance #2050, noting “Guadalupe River Flood” on your gift.

How to give:
• Churches: If taking an offering, please send collected gifts to the Rio Texas Conference office, designated to Advance #2050 — Guadalupe River Flood.
• Individuals: You may give through your local church, or mail contributions directly to the conference office at:
Rio Texas Conference, 16400 Huebner Rd., San Antonio, TX 78248

Your generosity will support immediate needs in the affected areas. We are also working with UMCOR on securing an initial grant to aid our response.

Last week I attended a meaningful three-day transition workshop at the San Damiano Retreat Center, and I want to share what a gift it was to spend that time connecting with your incoming pastor, Rev. David Kang. He is truly wonderful! He is rooted in deep faith, full of warmth and wisdom, and he brings a fantastic sense of humor to his ministry. I came away from our time together feeling deeply grateful that LUMC will be in such good hands.

As I prepare to say goodbye, I’m counting on you to extend your generosity and hospitality. Let’s show Pastor David just how welcoming this community can be. I know he will be a strong, compassionate, and faithful leader as you move into this next chapter together.

He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!
Hope you'll join us this morning - services are in-person and online at 8:30am and 10:30am, with a brunch and egg hunt at 9:30am.

Please keep the family of Amin - Ofi, Payman, and Sahar Noroozi - in your prayers. Amin was a local Acalanes high school student and football player who suddenly passed away following an unexpected tragedy. The family is not only beloved by the community, but is close family friends with church members as well.

1. Donate directly to the church. The funds will be used to help people who lost their homes cover immediate expenses and for the church’s eventual reconstruction. http://www.palisadesmethodist.org/giving

2. Donate to the Los Angeles Fire Recovery Fund through the UMC California Pac Conference. These funds will benefit all the Los Angeles communities suffering in the fires. https://www.calpacumc.org

3. Donate to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) for its disaster relief for all the California fires. https://umcmission.org/advance-project/901670/

4. Send donations of e-gift cards (amazon, target, grubhub. etc.) to [email protected]. These will be given to community members who lost their homes and belongings.
