If you live within the city limits of Lafayette, you may take brush to Winding Stairs.
Winding Stairs is only open for bush disposal!

NO TRAILS are open!

Follow the signs to the back lot to dump brush.
Winding Stairs will be open today till 4:00 pm again tomorrow from 7:00am-4:00 pm.

When weather permits, the city will come by & pick up brush for city residents. The brush must be no longer than 8 foot. Please have brush in or around your ditch. Call 615-666-2194 to schedule pick up.

Please be aware....

When mowing your yard, please don't mow grass into the streets.

Grass clippings on roads reduce a motorcycle's traction and can lead to a loss of control for the driver. A biker traveling at high speeds may fail to see these clippings in time, resulting in a motorcycle crash.

Last night, one of our monument setting trucks apparently decided it wanted to quit, and it did so quite dramatically. It caught on fire. It was parked under a shed with our other trucks and even though the parking brake was on, it moved itself forward (maybe from the starter shorting out?) just enough that it didn't damage anything else. Praise God for looking out for us! We want to thank the Lafayette Fire Department, the Macon County Sheriff's Department, and the several people that seen it and called it in. It makes me very proud of our community that everyone worked so fast to help us. THANK YOU!
