Revive 39 – Day 38

Today, we are praying for Waverly Baptist Church and her pastor, James Caufield.

Pray that God would strengthen Waverly Baptist as they faithfully serve their community and make disciples. Ask the Lord to encourage James as he leads, preaches, and shepherds, and pray that the church would see people come to faith in Christ and then grow toward spiritual maturity.

Our prayer emphasis this week is making disciples, and today we are specifically praying for growth in new believers.

“Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow up into your salvation, if you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
— 1 Peter 2:2–3 (CSB)

Making disciples does not end when someone places their faith in Jesus. In many ways, that is where the journey begins. New believers need the Word of God, the encouragement of other believers, and the patient investment of mature disciples who will walk alongside them.

Pray that our churches will not only reach people with the gospel but will intentionally help new believers grow in their understanding of Scripture, deepen their relationship with Christ, and learn to live as faithful disciples of Jesus.

Pray also that each of us would be willing to invest personally in someone who is learning to follow Christ.

Revive 39 – Day 37

Today, we are praying for Victory Baptist Church and her pastor, Robb Nelson.

Pray that God would strengthen Robb as he preaches His Word, giving him courage, clarity, wisdom, and faithfulness. Ask the Lord to prepare the hearts of Victory Baptist to hear the Word, understand it clearly, and respond to it without reservation.

Our prayer emphasis today is making disciples through the gathered church.

“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and teaching.”
— 2 Timothy 4:2 (CSB)

God uses the gathered church to shape His people through His Word. We do not gather simply to listen to a sermon, but to be changed by the truth and equipped to live as faithful disciples of Jesus.

Pray that our pastors will proclaim the Word boldly and faithfully. Pray that our churches will receive it humbly, obey it fully, and carry it into the world as we make disciples.

Revive 39 — Day 36

Today we pray for Valley Baptist Church and her pastor, Nathan Lawrence.

Pray that God would strengthen Nathan as he leads and serves, and that Valley Baptist would continue to be a faithful, unified witness for Christ in their community.

As we close out this week, our personal prayer focus is on reflection, spiritual growth, and our contribution to the unity of the church.

Take time today to look back over the past week and ask God to reveal a weak spot in your own spiritual life. Is there an attitude, habit, unresolved hurt, pride, bitterness, selfishness, or lack of grace that could be affecting not only your walk with Christ, but also your relationships within the body of Christ?

Church unity does not begin with everyone else changing. It begins when each of us allows God to search our own hearts.

Pray the words of Psalm 139:23–24:

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.”

Then ask God to give you clear, practical action steps to strengthen that weak area. Maybe you need to forgive someone, ask forgiveness, encourage another believer, let go of a preference, repair a relationship, or simply become more intentional about pursuing peace.

The health of the church is shaped by the health of its people. The unity of the church is strengthened when each of us is willing to let God do His work in us first.

Before we ask God to change someone else, let’s first ask Him to search us.

Revive 39 – Day 35

Today, we are praying for True Love Baptist Church (Cham Sa Rang) and her pastor, Joseph Lim.

As the only Korean-speaking church in our association, pray that God would strengthen their unique ministry and help them reach Korean-speaking individuals and families with the gospel. Ask the Lord to encourage Joseph, give him wisdom as he leads, and use True Love as a bridge across languages and cultures for the glory of Christ.

Our prayer emphasis today is unity through gospel partnership rather than gospel competition.

“I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”
— Philippians 1:3–5 (CSB)

Every church has been given a particular place, people, and ministry to serve. Our differences should not separate us, and our ministries should never become competitors. We are partners in the same gospel, serving the same Lord and working toward the same Kingdom purpose.

Pray that our churches will celebrate one another, encourage one another, and gladly work together so that more people may know Jesus.

Revive 39 – Day 34

Today, we are praying for Sunset Heights Baptist Church and her pastor, Joshua Shelton.

Pray that God would strengthen their fellowship, guide their ministry, and unite them around the mission of sharing the gospel. Ask the Lord to encourage Joshua, give him wisdom as he leads, and use Sunset Heights as a faithful witness within their community.

Our prayer emphasis today is unity in our shared mission.

“Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, according to Christ Jesus, so that you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one mind and one voice. Therefore welcome one another, just as Christ also welcomed you, to the glory of God.”
— Romans 15:5–7 (CSB)

Biblical unity does not require us to be identical in every preference or method. It calls us to stand together under the Lordship of Jesus, united around the gospel and committed to glorifying God with one mind and one voice.

Pray that our churches will lay aside personal agendas, extend grace to one another, and work together to fulfill the mission Christ has entrusted to us.

Revive 39 – Day 33

Today, we are praying for Shiloh Baptist Church and her pastor, Chuck Goodwin.

Pray that God would strengthen their fellowship, guide their ministry, and unite them around the mission of the gospel. Ask the Lord to encourage Chuck, give him wisdom as he leads, and use Shiloh to share the hope of Jesus throughout their community.

Our personal prayer emphasis today is encouragement.

“And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.”
— Hebrews 10:24–25 (CSB)

Encouragement requires us to notice one another. Pray that God would help us recognize those who are discouraged, weary, or struggling. Ask Him to use our words, presence, and actions to strengthen others and stir them toward love, faithfulness, and good works.

May our churches be places where people faithfully gather, genuinely care for one another, and continually point each other toward Jesus.

Revive 39 – Day 32

Today, we are praying for First Baptist Church of Shawmut and her pastor, Kevin James.

Pray that God would strengthen their fellowship, guide their ministry, and unite them around the mission of sharing the gospel. Ask the Lord to encourage Kevin, give him wisdom as he leads, and use First Baptist Shawmut as a faithful witness within the community.

We continue our focus on unity within our churches. Today, we are praying for a spirit of cooperation.

“Just one thing: As citizens of heaven, live your life worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, in one accord, contending together for the faith of the gospel.”
— Philippians 1:27 (CSB)

We are not in competition with one another. Every gospel-believing church is part of the same Kingdom work. Pray that we will lay aside jealousy, comparison, and the desire for recognition. Ask God to help our churches encourage one another, serve alongside one another, and contend together for the faith of the gospel.

Revive 39 – Day 31

Today, we are praying for Rock Springs Baptist Church and her pastor, Tommy Wilcox.

Pray that God would strengthen their fellowship, guide their ministry, and unite them around the truth and mission of the gospel. Ask the Lord to encourage Tommy, grant him wisdom as he leads, and use Rock Springs to share the hope of Jesus throughout their community.

This week, our prayer emphasis is unity within our churches. Today, we are personally praying for humble hearts.

“Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
— Ephesians 4:1–3 (CSB)

Biblical unity begins with humility. It requires us to lay aside pride, treat one another with gentleness, remain patient through disagreements, and bear with one another in love. Pray that God would remove pride and selfishness from our hearts and help us make every effort to preserve the unity His Spirit creates.

Revive 39 – Day 30

Today, we are praying for Riverview Baptist Church and her pastor, Lanny Sledge.

Pray that God would strengthen their fellowship, renew their passion for the gospel, and use Riverview as a faithful witness within their community. Ask the Lord to encourage Lanny, give him wisdom as he leads, and empower the church to accomplish the work God has placed before them.

Our personal prayer emphasis today is revival within us.

As we gather with other believers, our families, and our friends, let us pray for an outpouring of the Spirit of God that transforms us and makes us look more like Jesus.

“We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
— 2 Corinthians 3:18 (CSB)

Ask God to reveal the areas of your life that do not reflect the Jesus we encounter in Scripture. Repent of the attitudes, desires, habits, and priorities that are inconsistent with His character.

Let us also repent of anything in our churches that reflects the Jesus we want Him to be rather than the Jesus who has revealed Himself in His Word. Revival begins when we stop trying to reshape Jesus according to our preferences and allow His Spirit to reshape us according to His likeness.

Lord, revive us, transform us, and make us like Jesus.
