Women’s ACTS Retreat – West Baton Rouge

Hi everyone! My name is Stacy Grimes from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly. I have been humbly called to serve as Director for the Lafayette Chapter Women’s first missioning ACTS Retreat to West Baton Rouge (WBR).
First, I would like to introduce the leadership team, who have graciously and humbly agreed to go on this journey. Co-Directors for this retreat are Miranda Shipley from Holy Cross, Lafayette & Melanie Clouatre from St. John the Baptist, Brusly. Serving as the Spiritual Companion will be Amber Benoit from St. John the Baptist, Brusly.
We are asking the Women of the ACTS Lafayette Chapter & our ACTS sisters in West Baton Rouge and surrounding areas to discern the call of the Holy Spirit to team this Women's missioning ACTS retreat. This is the first Women’s missioning retreat so the team will be comprised of women from both Lafayette and Baton Rouge areas.
Before you respond to this email - things to know:
Teaming requires a commitment of both time and prayer. When you respond to this email, you are agreeing to follow the 2019 ACTS Retreat Manual and to keep this retreat Simple, Reverent & Catholic. As the 1st Women’s missioning ACTS Retreat to WBR we will be holding formation meetings virtually from a set location in Lafayette and a set location in Brusly/Port Allen but travel to Brusly for certain events throughout the formation & retreat process will be necessary.
The ACTS Lafayette Chapter is responsible for overseeing the team selection process. We ask for your understanding as we begin to compile the list of potential team members. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
● The retreat will take place on July 10-13, 2025, at The Grand Coteau Retreat Center in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.
● A mini-retreat for the Team will be held on Saturday morning June 28, 2025. (time and location TBD)
● The first formation meeting and Commissioning Mass will be held in Brusly at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Sunday, March 23rd. Commissioning Mass will be celebrated at 11am followed by the first meeting lasting until 2pm (lunch will be served).
● Team Formation will be held on Thursday nights from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm beginning April 3rd and ending June 26th (no meeting April 17th for Easter, nor week of July 4th) in Brusly/Port Allen for West Baton Rouge team members and at Holy Cross Catholic Church for Lafayette team members. The two groups will meet virtually. Note: connecting virtually from your house or another location is NOT an option.
●Team member expectations include being fully present during the ACTS formation & retreat weekend. Fully participating in the Team Formation process includes:
● not missing more than 2 meetings
● Paying the full retreat fee of $350 (there is no financial help for team members on this retreat).
● Attending the entire retreat weekend from Thursday morning through Sunday return mass.

Upon receipt of the form, you will receive a response to acknowledge your willingness to team. Names received by NOON on Friday, February March 14th will be considered through a discernment process, and all applicants will be notified by email by Monday, March 17th of the final team and more details on 1st formation meeting and commissioning in Brusly.
