On Sunday we blessed the new frontal and stoles donated by the family of Prudence Arnold, a founding member of our congregation. We appreciate their generosity and will enjoy worshiping with these beautiful pieces for many years to come.

We also support Cornerstone Hospice Foundation with our Annual Peg Busch Ladies Scramble—a fine organization that touches all of us in our times of need. God bless them and their workers and volunteers!

Jesus is stopping to teach on His way to the cross and tells us His story. It is a lesson about the chief cornerstone andhow Jesus will hold us up each day. No matter how often we turn from God’s message, God still loves us and does not give up on us.

St. George Episcopal Church had a wonderful and inspiring weekend. The church and parish hall were filled this past Sunday for worship services and the First Sunday Fellowship. In the afternoon, there was a wonderful concert by the Reflectsons in the sanctuary. Blessings to all for a great week.

In this homily The Rev. Janet Richardson, Assistant to theRector of St. George Episcopal Church, discusses what fairness is and God’s generosity. Looking at the readings for the day about the story of Noah and the parable of the workers in the vineyard, she ponders whether we want justice for our enemies but mercy for ourselves. She tells us that God’s mercy extends to all and when we repent truthfully, God forgives. Joy comes when we stop complaining about someone else’s blessings and are thankful for the blessingswe have. She states that Jesus took the ultimate unfair punishment so we could get the ultimate unfair reward. That is how generous God is.
