HOPE...without it, life is not bearable. For our sisters beyond bars, hope can be hard to come by. Do you have room in your heart to extend hope, love, and encouragement to an incarcerated woman? HOPE LETTERS is a Christian correspondence mentoring ministry under the umbrella of The Oasis at Lowell Correctional Institution (Ocala FL). A simple training is provided. Your name and location are completely hidden, as you write under your first name only or a pen name and she writes to you via a PO Box that I monitor. You receive your letters as a .pdf. A number of months ago, The Oasis at LCI began a Christian correspondence mentoring ministry to women incarcerated at Lowell Correctional in Ocala. It has been a blessing to both mentors and mentees. We just recently had many more of our incarcerated sisters ask for a mentor, and while we have about 100 mentors currently, WE NEED MORE! Would you consider offering hope, encouragement, and faith to an incarcerated woman? Today, LCI re-opens it's doors to volunteers. I'm so grateful to be at the WorkCamp on Thursday evening. Praying also for more openings to love on the women there and spread the hope that we have in Jesus!

Thankfully, things are improving within Florida prisons, and family visitation will be resuming October 1. We are praying that volunteer access will resume once the outbreak at Lowell is under control. Please continue to pray for all the woman at Lowell, as they are suffering isolation, inactivity, and an absence of faith-based and educational programming due to covid-19 restrictions. During this time when we have not been able to do in-person ministry, our HOPE LETTERS ministry (mentoring through letter-writing) is THRIVING!
