You Are Not a Commuter. You Are Sent. 🧭✈️
Last Sunday, we kicked off our brand new series, "The Fivefold Gifts of Jesus" (APEST). We went back to the theological roots of the word Apostle.
It’s easy to think "mission" is just a program the church runs. It’s easy to settle into "Commuter Christianity," just showing up for services and then going home.
But we learned something life-changing: We serve a Sending God.
Before the church had a mission, God had a church for His mission. Sending isn't just what God does; it is who God is. The Father sent the Son, the Father and Son sent the Spirit, and now, He is sending you.
Our new identity—given at baptism—is that of a shaliach: an authorized agent representing the King in our everyday lives. You are sent into your office, your neighborhood, your classroom, and your family. You carry the authority and purpose of the Sender.
This week, we encourage you: Stop commuting. Start living sent.
Looking Forward...
If we are a sent people, what is the pattern? Where do we find the model for this lifestyle?
This Sunday, we narrow the lens from the "Sending God" to the "Sent Son." We will look at Hebrews 3:1, which calls Jesus the "apostle... of our confession."
Join us this Sunday at 9:00 AM as we see what the apostolic life looks like in flesh and blood. See you there! ⛪️
