I love our weekly church service (followed by a delicious & spirited coffee hour) but this past Sunday seemed to have an extra special vibe. Our minister was back from vacation and his sermon was powerful, thoughtful, insightful (and funny at times) as it always is. The pews were full and all of the hymns, especially the processional hymn #427 (When Morning Gilds the Skies) were sung like a choir, beautifully and with reverence. Most of the regular parishioners were there, as well as a few visitors, and also some special faces we haven’t seen in a while. Our organist played beautifully, as always, and our worship & music facilitator did an amazing job singing “How can I keep from Singing” a ca****la!! The flower arrangements were gorgeous, made up largely with garden flowers from 2 of our parishioners. And the periodic, precious vocals from a little one who was baptized at our church and attends regularly with her parents and grandparents, brought smiles to all of us. It truly was a beautiful service!

Somewhere between the quiet prayers and the memories that never fade, I find myself thinking of you ❤️

I wonder if you can still feel how deeply you are loved, how your courage still echoes through the lives you touched. The world kept moving, just like it always does, but a part of it softened the day you were gone. A part of me did too. I hold onto the thought that you are wrapped in a kind of peace we can only imagine, watched over with the same strength you once gave so freely 🤍

There are moments when the sky feels a little closer, when the light breaks through the clouds just right, and I swear it feels like you saying hello. Like a reminder that you are still here in the quiet, in the memories, in every heartbeat that carries your name forward 💖

You were more than a uniform, more than a title. You were laughter, love, sacrifice, and a bravery that will never be forgotten. I hope you know that every prayer whispered for you is filled with gratitude and longing all at once 🕊️
