As salaam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu, it's with a heavy heart that I convey the news of the passing of our sister Joyce Harris, wife of brother and Imam Ahmed Harris of Masjid Ar Rayhan. Allah Azawajel returned her soul to Him (Allah) yesterday, the Janazah will be at MCECC April 23, 2025 2PM immediately following the Zhur prayer.

A Call to Compassion From The Shahadah Foundation and other community leaders: Help a Sister in Urgent Need of Surgery 🌙

Dear Community,

Sometimes, Allah sends us opportunities—not just to give, but to grow. Today, we share one such opportunity with you.

A devoted husband and father in our community is reaching out in a time of deep hardship. His beloved wife is suffering from severe, debilitating pain that leaves her unable to sleep and barely able to move. After multiple doctor visits and four denied insurance appeals, she is still waiting for the surgery she desperately needs.

Her physician, Dr. Osama Ahmad at the Brain and Spine Institute of San Antonio, can confirm the urgency of her condition.

To make matters more difficult, after 23 years of government service, the husband was recently let go from his job. Yet their faith remains strong—anchored in sabr, hope, and trust in Allah.

🤲 An Invitation to Rise
This is more than a request. It is a blessed chance to raise our own ranks by easing the burden of another.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits—but give good tidings to the patient.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:155)

We can be that good news for this family.

Inspired by the companions who freed Salman al-Farsi (RA)—each giving what they could, trusting that Allah would do the rest—we are asking:

As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Ramadan is a month of mercy, reflection, and unity. It is a time when we come together as an ummah to support one another in worship and charity. However, for our incarcerated Muslim brothers and sisters, observing this sacred month can be challenging due to limited access to essential items—especially dates, which are a Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for breaking the fast.
At The Shahadah Foundation, we are dedicated to serving and uplifting incarcerated Muslims. This Ramadan, we are launching a campaign to provide dates to Muslim inmates, allowing them to break their fasts in accordance with the Sunnah.
We kindly ask for your support in this noble effort. A donation of just $45 can provide dates for multiple inmates, and $400 can help an entire facility. Our goal this Ramadan is to support two facilities with approximately 10 to 15 boxes each, which is roughly $400 to $600 Any amount you give will make a difference in brightening their Ramadan experience.
