KofC basketball free throw competition on Sunday, December 21, 2025 for 9 to 14 year old boys and girls. Must be 9 to 14 on January 1, 2026. MUST BRING BIRTH CERTIFICATE. The event begins at 10 AM at the Our Lady of Victory Elementary School gym. Door open at 9:30 AM. Use door 3C (on South Park Ave) to enter the gym. Bring sneakers. Entrance forms available in the gym.

Please support Father Baker Council 2243's annual "Summer Sweepstakes" campaign! Top prize is $2,500! Proceeds help us to support our various local charities such as Lackawanna Food Pantry, St. Gianna Molla Pregnancy Outreach Center, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Rayzors Foundation for Mental Health and the Lackawanna Legends Youth Baseball League. On Friday, November 22, Father Baker Council 2243 of the Knights of Columbus donated 36 new winter jackets to Our Lady of Victory Elementary School for distribution to needy students. In the photo are Grand Knight, Gene Mendrysa, OLV Principal, Mary Doyle-Szlosek, Council Treasurer, Bruce Coleman Sr., and Council Financial Sec’y., John Radwan.

On October 24, 2024, John Radwan, representing Father Baker Council #2243, presented a donation in the amount of $500 to Sarah Lindstrom of the St. Gianna Molla Pregnancy Outreach Centers, at their Lackawanna office. The Outreach Center in Lackawanna is located in the OLV Charities Building at 780 Ridge Road. There are eight Pregnancy Outreach offices in the WNY area.

Knights of Columbus
Basketball Free Throw Competition
Fr. Baker Council #2243 of the Knights of Columbus will again be participating as the sponsor of the annual KofC basketball free throw competition for all boys and girls, ages 9 to 14. The contests will take place at the gymnasium of Our Lady of Victory Elementary School on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10 AM. Participants should bring sneakers, are also required to furnish proof of age (birth certificate) and to give parental consent to participate. Please enter the gym by using door which faces South Park Avenue.

Entry forms are available at the Our Lady of Victory Elementary School office, and also at the registration table in the gym on the morning of the event. Questions? Contact Fr Baker Council members John (716-675-1804) or Bob (716-348-6119).

Contestants compete within their own gender and age group. All competition starts at the local (council) level. Winners of this event move on to the "district", "regional", and "NY State Champion" contests. Boys & girls not participating in any other K of C free throw contest, are invited to participate in this event, on December 16th at 10 AM.
