Witness the power of community and faith in "American Martyr: The Blessed Stanley Rother Story," narrated by Martin Sheen. Only God could use a simple man from Oklahoma to spread the faith in remote Guatemala. He was a father to his people, a man of the faith, an ordinary American, and the shepherd who didn't run.

The film will be shown at the Regal Martin Village theatres in Lacey this week on August 25 & 26. Get tickets and learn more: https://www.rotherdoc.com/ See less

"The apostles gathered together with Jesus and reported all they had done and taught. He said to them, 'Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.' " -Mark 6:30- 31

Thank you for your patience when we closed the church offices last week. Our parish family staff went on retreat to reflect on our need to take care of our spiritual, mental, and physical health by resting in God's presence.

"God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because in it he rested from all the work he had done in creation." -Genesis 2:3

A message from Deacon Ronnie,

I am grateful to begin serving as Sacred Heart Parish’s Pastoral Assistant for Inclusion and Mental Health Ministries. These two ministries are separate, distinct, but deeply connected to our mission as a Catholic community at Sacred Heart and for our future Parish Family.

Inclusion Ministry
Our Inclusion Ministry works to ensure that every parishioner - across abilities, neurodiversity, culture, age, and life experience - feels welcomed, valued, and able to participate fully in parish life. This includes accessibility in worship, adaptive sacramental preparation, and building a parish culture where all belong.

Mental Health Ministry
Our Mental Health Ministry accompanies individuals and families who are navigating mental health challenges. The focus is on pastoral presence, psychoeducation, reducing stigma, connecting parishioners with resources, and fostering a community where people feel safe to seek support.

If you have questions, need support, or feel called to be involved in either ministry, I would love to hear from you. Please reach out to me at the parish office anytime or email me at [email protected] Together, may we continue building a parish family where every person is seen, loved, and welcomed.

The tabernacle is the fixed, locked container where the consecrated Eucharist is kept. Since we believe that our Lord Jesus is present in the Eucharist, we are asked to genuflect towards the direction of the tabernacle, as we enter our pews, if we are able. It is paired with a lit red Sanctuary Lamp, which reminds us of Jesus’s presence. Please be mindful of those who may be praying in front of the tabernacle, especially before and after Mass.
❤️At Sacred Heart, please maintain silence or keep conversations to a minimum as you enter or exit the door closest to the tabernacle.
