Our Distinctives:
Joy: We believe that God is the only source of true joy and that it is His will that we live lives full of joy in Him. We are committed to pursuing a rich joy in God every day, and in sharing the journey of that pursuit with others. People: We value and love all people as uniquely created in God’s image. This includes valuing and loving all people even if we disagree with them
or their lifestyle. Intimacy: Genuine love is the highest mark of the people of God (those who have been born again and are in-dwelt by the Spirit of God). To that end we pursue, expect, and are committed to developing intimate Christian friendship with those we share in Christ with and especially those in our community of faith. The Bible as the Word of God: We believe the Bible to be the primary and only perfect source for understanding God, people, salvation, eternity, holiness, justice, and love. As such, we are committed to expositional Bible teaching in our worship gatherings. We are committed to the Bible as the central foundation upon which all we do as a body of believers and as individuals and families flows. A church is a body of people that have been redeemed by the Living God and regularly share life together. A church is people that share the journey of faith and the cross together, serve together, play together, pray together, cry together, celebrate together, and grow together on mission. Art: Many of us are artists and some form of art is our primary form of expression, a passion of ours, and our primary means of ministry through artistic creation and education. As Creator, God created us all in His image, which means He created us all to be artistic. Some people may be more in tune to their creativity than others, and some may be creative in other forms of expression rather than art. But we believe that art has significant value as one of the most heart, mind, and soul effecting forms of human expression. For this reason, we believe we have a responsibility to engage in dialogue around the art of the culture, and we are committed to creating art that matters and makes a difference. Ministry is not a job or a professional occupation reserved for full-time pastors or missionaries. Ministry is cooperating with the people of God in meeting the needs of others and fulfilling their calling in a way that points to The Lamb of God for His glory. It is our commitment to help people find ways to meet the needs of others in an area of their passion and gifting. It is our expectation that all members of our body will be committed to a life of ministry to others and making disciples. We are committed to an urban mission that we serve out by teaching music through a local non-profit music school (with a sattelite in the Seattle area). We are always looking for more great teachers or those who have the heart, the passion, and the potential, we are willing to disciple and train.
