PLEASE READ CHURCH PARKING LOT UPDATE FROM PASTOR TIMM HIGH
Friends and Fellow Disciples of Jesus amongst the Saints of Community Presbyterian Church, greetings;
The second phase for graves under the parking lot of the Community Presbyterian Church began today rather than next week due to the availability of an archaeologist. There were three areas that were searched. The search process has been halted which will allow for conversations within the Tribal Council and amongst other interested parties. At this time there is no predictable time frame for this part of the process.
There are many resulting outcomes for the time being: two-thirds of the parking lot has been barricaded off from use, meaning that we will have to explore some alternatives for parking on Sunday mornings; The Attic will remain closed while the parking lot is barricaded; and Kim and Timm cannot park in the garage of the manse.
Steve Schunk was present for the entire experience and was a very helpful connector for the congregation with members of the LdF Tribe as well as other persons who were present.
The most immediate issue is parking on Sunday mornings. I estimate that we can get twenty cars in the lot with the cooperation of persons to park carefully. I have asked if the LdF transit buses could be available to help with transportation from an off-property site and have been told no because of the funding of that service. George Thompson, Tribal Council Vice Chair and supervisor of the road division, said he would speak with leadership at the Casino to see if their bus might be available. If you have ideas, please let Steve or Timm know.
Yes, there is and will be some inconvenience. Hopefully continued cooperation and open communications will allow for an outcome that resolves the outstanding questions. Please share your questions, as well as your ideas, with either Steve or Timm.
Thank you for everything you do to witness to God's Way in the world as you love God and neighbor and embody leadership within the Community Presbyterian Church of Lac du Flambeau.
Blessings and Be Well...
Timm
