As you read today's verses, underline righteousness, circle peace, and highlight the phrase readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

A breastplate protected a soldier's heart. Paul reminds us that our hearts are protected by Christ's righteousness, not our own goodness.

This is wonderful Gospel news. There will be days when Satan reminds us of our failures. He will whisper that we aren't good enough. On those days we don't point to ourselves—we point to Jesus. His righteousness covers us completely.

Then notice our shoes. We stand on the Gospel of peace. Because Jesus has reconciled us to the Father, we have peace with God and can carry that peace into a divided world.

Today, when guilt tries to define you, remember this simple truth: Jesus is your righteousness.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for covering me with Your righteousness and giving me peace with God. Help me stand confidently in the Gospel today. Amen.

Today, circle the word truth, underline stand firm, and highlight the phrase belt of truth.

The first piece of armor is truth. A Roman soldier's belt held everything else together. Without it, the rest of the armor could not function properly.

The same is true for us. God's truth holds our lives together. In a world filled with changing opinions and endless voices, God's Word remains steady and trustworthy.
Jesus declared, "I am the way and the truth and the life." Truth isn't merely information. Truth is found in a relationship with Christ.

Ask yourself today, "What voices am I listening to the most?" Then spend a few extra minutes listening to God's voice through His Word.

Prayer:
Father, anchor my heart in Your truth today. Help me recognize false voices and confidently trust the unchanging promises of Your Word. Amen.

As you read today's passage, underline the phrase "in the Lord," circle the word stand, and highlight every reference to God's strength.

Paul doesn't end his letter by saying, "Be strong enough." Instead, he says, "Be strong in the Lord." That small phrase changes everything. Our confidence doesn't come from our own courage, wisdom, or determination. It comes from Jesus.

Notice how often Paul tells believers to stand. He doesn't tell us to win the victory because Christ has already won it through His death and resurrection. Our calling is to remain firmly planted in Him when temptation, suffering, or discouragement come.

Life often feels like a battle. We face temptation, fear, anxiety, disappointment, and spiritual attacks. Yet Paul reminds us that we never stand alone. Christ stands with us.

Today, when you feel overwhelmed, pause and pray, "Lord, help me stand in Your strength instead of relying on my own."

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that my strength comes from You. Help me stand firm today, trusting Your power more than my own abilities. Amen.

This week, read Ephesians 6 every day. As you read, use your Bible to discover how God prepares us for daily life.

• Circle every piece of the Armor of God.
• Underline every command that begins with "stand."
• Highlight every reminder of God's strength, power, and peace.

By the end of the week, you'll discover that the armor isn't about becoming stronger on your own. It's about standing every day in the strength Christ has already given you.

Read the entire chapter one more time today. Then take a few minutes to look back at everything you've circled, underlined, and highlighted this week.

Notice Paul's repeated invitation to walk. Walk in love. Walk in light. Walk in wisdom. These aren't three different Christian lives. They are three pictures of the same transformed life.

Also notice something else. Every practical instruction points back to Jesus. We love because He first loved us. We walk in the light because He is the Light of the World. We live wisely because He gives us His Spirit. We serve because He first served us.

As you prepare for Ephesians 6 tomorrow, remember that following Jesus isn't about checking boxes or trying to appear more religious. It's about allowing Christ's love to shape every step you take.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching me how to walk in love, light, and wisdom. Help every part of my life reflect the grace I have received through Jesus, so that others may see Him in me. Amen.

Paul's teaching on marriage ultimately points us to something even greater—the relationship between Jesus and His Church. Christ's love is sacrificial, faithful, forgiving, and unwavering. He doesn't love us because we deserve it. He loves us because that is His nature.

Whether you're married, single, widowed, or divorced, these verses remind every believer what Christ's love looks like. His love becomes the model for all of our relationships.

Take a moment today to thank Jesus for His faithful love. Then ask Him to help you reflect that same grace in the relationships He has given you.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for loving Your Church with perfect faithfulness. Teach me to love others with the same humility, sacrifice, and grace You have shown me. Amen.

JoLynne and Crissa both feared being judged by their past when they joined Rooted, but said yes anyway. Instead, they found a group where they could be honest, be known, and be loved without judgment. Along the way, they found healing, deeper faith, and each other.

Today, circle the word submit, underline one another, and highlight reverence for Christ.

The word submit is often misunderstood. In Scripture, it isn't about superiority or inferiority. It describes a humble willingness to place the needs of others ahead of our own. Paul begins this entire section with a call for every believer to practice mutual humility.

Jesus Himself demonstrated this kind of servant-hearted leadership. Though He was Lord of all, He washed His disciples' feet and willingly laid down His life for us. His example teaches us that greatness in God's Kingdom is measured by love and service.

Imagine how our homes, churches, workplaces, and friendships would change if everyone asked, "How can I serve?" instead of "How can I be served?"

Today, intentionally put someone else's needs ahead of your own in a practical way.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for showing me the humility of a servant. Help me place others before myself and reflect Your love through acts of kindness and service. Amen.

Today, underline filled with the Spirit, circle every expression of worship and thanksgiving, and highlight the phrase always giving thanks.

Paul contrasts two very different ways of living. One is controlled by temporary things that eventually leave us empty. The other is filled with the Holy Spirit, producing joy, gratitude, worship, and encouragement.

Notice that being filled with the Spirit isn't described as a one-time event but as an ongoing way of life. Every day, through God's Word, prayer, worship, and the Sacraments, the Holy Spirit continues to strengthen our faith and shape our hearts.

One of the clearest signs of a Spirit-filled life is gratitude. Even in difficult seasons, believers can thank God because His promises never change.

Today, write down three things you're thankful for. Then take a moment to thank God for each one specifically.

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, fill my heart today with joy, gratitude, and peace. Help my life become a song of praise that points others to Jesus. Amen.
