Today the Church celebrates the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord. This brings to an end the season of Christmas. The Church recalls Our Lord's second manifestation or epiphany which occurred on the occasion of His baptism in the Jordan. Jesus descended into the River to sanctify its waters and to give them the power to beget sons of God. The event takes on the importance of a second creation in which the entire Trinity intervenes.

Our Baptism date is an important part of our lives as Catholics, it should be celebrated as our Spiritual Birthday, that we became adopted sons of God the Father. Do you remember your Baptism Date?

The Magi have arrived!!! Happy Feast of the Epiphany!

This weekend we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany (Three Kings Day) that marks the occasion of a time-honored Christian tradition of “chalking the doors.”

The chalking of the doors is a centuries-old practice throughout the world. This is an easy tradition to adopt, and a great practice whereby we dedicate our year to God from its very outset, asking His blessing on our homes and on all who live, work, or visit them there.

This year, let us adore Christ Jesus and present him with the gift of our own very lives!

This week we celebrate National Vocation Awareness Week!

It is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, marriage and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.

As Catholics, we firmly believe that God has a plan for our lives! He calls some to marriage, some to the priesthood, and others to religious life or to live as generous single people. Fully living our own vocations—and teaching young people how to discern God’s call—is a serious duty, but also a joyful one.

During this week, please encourage the young people in your life—children, grandchildren, students, and friends—to be open if God calls them to priesthood or religious life.
