This noble initiative was organized under the guidance of Venerable Thalangama Devananda Nayaka Thero, Chief Incumbent of Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya, with the generous support of Mr. Yasith Weerasuriya, a devoted Buddhist from Los Angeles, USA.

Lighting the Lamps of Blessings to Begin the Auspicious Dalada Perahera…

At the historic Kotte Raja Maha Vihara, the 2026 Dalada Perahera Festival was blessed with a sacred all-night Pirith Chanting Ceremony, marking the beginning of this meritorious and time-honored celebration.

As the lamps of blessings were lit, prayers and aspirations were offered for the successful and peaceful conduct of the Perahera, and for blessings, protection, peace, good health, and happiness to all beings.

May the power of the Buddha Dhamma and the blessings of the Maha Sangha bring peace and prosperity to everyone.
