The Entrance Procession
What is it?
It is the rite that begins the Mass when the celebrant and his ministers enter from the back of the church to the altar. It signifies the journey of the Church toward God and reminds us that we are a pilgrim people. With this gesture, we emphasize the visible presence of Christ in his minister (the priest) who is received with honor, forming a community gathered around Christ as Head, Shepherd, and Spouse.
Essential elements:
-It is a movement that manifests, encourages, and prompts tireless discipleship toward the encounter with the Father.
-It is an advancement together, marching jointly with brothers and sisters toward the same goal in fraternity.
-It obliges us to care for our brothers and sisters, becoming an act of love and worship of God.
