Ecclesiastes 7:5 Better to be criticized by a wise person than to be praised by a fool.

CHOOSE GROWTH!

We love to be recognized, praised, and promoted. But if we are not careful, we can let others' opinions validate our lives. Yes, pride always leads to deception, but correction from a wise person, though hurtful, brings perspective and direction. So we always have to choose: a parade from fools or the pains of maturity and growth. CHOOSE GROWTH!

1 Timoty 6: 9 But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

THE LOVE OF MONEY?

In the truest sense, we will sacrifice for what we love. In fact, our sacrifice ultimately reveals what we truly love. We might believe we can fool others with our words and persuade them of our love. We might even believe that our love for our work, possessions, and money benefits others, but unfortunately, the health of our relationships rarely proves it. And yes, life can be complicated, and relationships can be difficult. But trading our love for God and others for tangible "things" leads us down a lonely, sorrowful road. THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL KINDS OF EVIL.

Proverbs 22:13 The lazy person claims, “There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!”

NO EXCUSES!

We all have excuses. Too busy! Not enough time! Overwhelmed! Bad weather! The truth is, we do what we want. Many would rather scroll their lives away on their devices than do what is necessary or important. Though we may fool ourselves with excuses, our relationships eventually pay a high price. A good day starts with one step in the right direction; let's take that step today! NO EXCUSES!

2 Corinthians 5: 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

GOD'S PLAN IS ALWAYS THE BEST!

Only by God making us new do we break our cycle of sinful selfishness. If we were remade or reconditioned, it would be a better-looking version of ourselves, but in the end, our intentions would always be self-serving. In God's plan, we become new so we can honestly serve Him and give Him all the glory. In this plan is found the fullness of God's blessings: overwhelming peace, love, and joy. GOD'S PLAN IS ALWAYS THE BEST! NEW!

1 Corinthians 4: 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

STAYING FOCUSED!

Life often requires us to adjust our focus. There is no doubt that what is in front of us right now demands our full attention. But in doing so, we not only lose perspective but also a sense of direction. Yes, life is demanding and, at times, overwhelming. But it should never be allowed to change our direction and, in turn, change us. Life is short, and in the end, who we are and where we are headed is all that matters. So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. STAYING FOCUSED!

Job 29:18 “I thought, ‘Surely I will die surrounded by my family after a long, good life.

GOD RULES IN THE MIDST OF OUR DISAPPOINTMENT!

We dream, plan, and hope for the very best. And like Job, when the enemy of our souls and of life itself blows in like a hurricane and destroys everything, we are left with devastation and disappointment. Some might say we shouldn't expect anything to avoid disappointment. But that would mean we have lived a life without faith and hope. No, we have to discover in the midst of our darkness that God is Lord over everything, despite our disappointment and devastation. Though the darkness may surround us like a dense fog, there is still light! GOD RULES IN THE MIDST OF OUR DISAPPOINTMENT!

Proverbs 22: 6 Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.

GOD'S PROMISES ARE ALWAYS TRUE!

Proverbs 22:6 is more than an instructive verse; it is also a promise. In a corrupt and sinful world, God assures us that, as parents, if we lead our children down the right path, they will know it and find it. On the flip side, if we, as parents, wander haplessly through life, our children will also be wanderers. And if you know, you know, we never stop being parents! So lead and direct your children onto the right path! GOD NEVER LIES! AND HIS PROMISES ARE ALWAYS TRUE!

2 Corinthians 1: 8 We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9 In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. 10 And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.

HAVE WE NOT MOVED BEYOND SELF-RELIANCE?

There is great release in our bodies, souls, and spirits when we stop relying on ourselves and rely only on God. We tend to believe we are smart enough and have the ability and strength to overcome and succeed. Yet some life struggles are beyond our ability to conquer. It's then that we learn the greatest lesson: God is always able when we are not! Yes, God loves us, and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. HAVE WE MOVED BEYOND SELF-RELIANCE?

1 Corinthians 16: 13 Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. 14 And do everything with love.

IT'S REPEATABLE AND EFFECTIVE!

It's true that some never learn. Yes, we all know someone who lives life unaware or off guard; they keep falling into the same traps and seem surprised each time. That is why we need to stay on guard each day, strengthen our faith, be courageous and strong, and keep our hearts pure so we can truly love. It's a repeatable pattern that not only makes us aware of our pitfalls but also enables us to carry out God's plan in our lives. IT'S REPEATABLE AND EFFECTIVE!

Psalm 39: 4 “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is.
5 You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
6 We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing.
We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. 7 And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.

MAKE HASTE AND BE GENEROUS!

It's always good to be reminded of how little time we have here on earth and where we should place our hope. Yes, we can believe we are important and that all we have accomplished and accumulated is significant, but at death it seems worthless. No, our true purpose has never been rooted in our ability to be blessed, but rather in being a blessing. A farmer who hoards seed is not a good farmer. Only the farmer who plants abundant seed reaps an overwhelming harvest. So in our short time here on earth, we should focus not on being consumers but on being distributors. WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO BESTOW BLESSINGS! MAKE HASTE AND BE GENEROUS!
