“He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭22‬

The world says live one way. In fact, the world definition of a high value man is:
-wealth/income
-celebrity
-title/position

Yet none of the world‘s definitions for high value individuals are true. You can be one or even all three of the above categories and be a scum sucking pig.

Both proverbs 31 and Ephesians 5 along with countless other places in the Bible, God’s word, define what a high value individual looks like. Here is a short list and it’s much more expansive in the bible.
-honest
-loyal
-trustworthy
-truthful
-courageous
-virtuous
-hardworking
-selfless
-generous
and on and on….

Notice the extreme contrast between the world’s definition of high value, and God‘s definition of high value.

Here is yet another awesome thing about our God, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If the partial shortlist of God’s definition of high value does not match you today. You’re not a king or you’re not a queen. You can turn from the life you’re living right now this second and ask God to forgive you and change direction. This is also known as repent, or as originally written in the Greek, the word was Metanoia. Which literally translates to change one’s mind to change direction. I was living one way with the world and I’m as guilty as anyone else. Then I repented and changed direction to God you are right I am wrong. Teach me to walk in your ways.

You can become a child of God today. You can become a high value individual as defined by God starting this day forward.

Like the early Church, we thrive when we gather to share meals, worship together, and support one another when life gets hard. There’s a unique joy that comes from opening our hearts and homes to others, even when it feels vulnerable or inconvenient.

I get it — building a community takes effort. It requires us to step out of our comfort zones, prioritize relationships, and be intentional with our time. Maybe you’ve been hurt in the past, or you fear rejection. Perhaps life feels too chaotic to add another commitment. Or the circumstances don’t seem right. Yet God calls us to community not for perfection but for connection. He knows we’re stronger together.

Take a moment to reflect: Where are there opportunities to invite someone into your life? Could you join a small group at church, host a coffee date, or check in with a friend? It doesn’t have to be elaborate; a simple act of kindness can open the door to meaningful connection.

In the hustle and bustle of life, carving out time for community isn’t just about needing others but about living the way God designed us to live: together.

How could you be more intentional with your time and relationships, even in the midst of a busy season?

On Saturday, surrounded by friends and family, Bobby D. Lay Jr. and I were ordained as pastors and on Sunday morning we had our first official church service in our own home as lead Pastors of UNICO Church.

It is our brand new church and it is beginning in our home. We are just starting out, and there is no fancy building, no worship team yet, or fancy anything, but the Holy Spirit was in the room and that's all we wanted! With hands lifted high we sang and worshipped in Spirit and in Truth. I cried out to God, "Lord, we want Revival or nothing!" Bc it doesn't matter where we are, when the presence of the Lord walks in the room transformation happens! And that's what we encountered on Sunday! Hearts being transformed!

We are still helping my dad at his church as well, but with his blessing, we are so excited to see what God does and how he moves in this next season of our lives through our own ministry! If you don't have a home church, or would like to visit us, you're welcome in our home. We will worship together, we share God's Word, His Undefiled truth, and then we eat together after! Our goal is to create Real Christian Unity while pointing people to Jesus!

As men, it's so tempting to chase career goals before family goals. Society applauds financial success and positional prominence.

However, if those things come at the cost of loving your wife and kids well, something is terribly amiss.

As a man, your first calling is to love Christ. Your next calling is to love your bride, then your children. Finally, you're called to love others in Christ's name by perpetuating the message of the gospel through discipleship.

Somewhere below those callings, you're called to steward your resources (time, energy, talent, money) well as if unto God.

So many times, we men tend to flip those priorities around for all the wrong reasons. I'm urging you to not fall into that trap.

Wisdom has told us time and time again not to chase vain pursuits. Seek understanding, chase the Gospel.

Psalm 49:20 reads, "Man in his pomp yet without understanding is like the beasts that perish." I believe this means that aside from understanding of God, His goodness, His purposes, and the Gospel, we are men in form but we exist as animals. We live, we survive, and we die.

Those are strong words, but for good reason! Life is short, don't waste it pursuing worthless things. I hope you're reminded of this just as I am, and you're urged to keep your priorities in line according to God's word.

Stay fierce, men. Lead and love well.

Ryan

Note: this could apply to ladies as well, but I just wanted to share something I had on my heart for other guys!
