Grace Lutheran Church was established in 1967 and founded Grace Lutheran School in 1974. Both the Church and school are located 1/4 mile east of the center of La Plata on Charles Street/Route 6. We provide our students with a Christian education enhanced with a stimulating and challen

ging curriculum within a warm and encouraging learning environment. The goal of Grace Lutheran School is to share Jesus Christ with each child and challenge them to develop socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually as a unique child of God. It is to this end that religion classes are taught at all grade levels as a regular part of the curriculum. Grace has a 46 year tradition of outstanding academics that comply with Maryland state standards. Grace is accredited by the National Lutheran Schools Association, Cognia and Middle States and our teachers are degreed classroom educators.

Grace Lutheran School is so excited to host our Annual Law Enforcement Chapel on Wednesday, September 30th! We're inviting our local law enforcement personnel and their families to join us for a continental breakfast at 8:30am, followed by a special service at 9:00am honoring the men and women who serve and protect our community every single day. 💙

This is one of our favorite mornings of the school year where our faculty, staff, and students can't wait to fill the room with gratitude, prayer, and applause for the officers who keep us safe.

🍂 Hello, September! 🍂

A new month is here, and we are so thankful for all that September brings to our GLS family! Our halls are filled with familiar smiles, new friendships, learning, laughter, and so many opportunities to grow together.

As we settle into the rhythm of a new school year, we are praying for a month filled with joy, growth, meaningful connections, and God’s guidance over our students, families, teachers, and staff.

We’re excited for all that God has in store for our GLS family this month! ❤️

🌟 Our littlest Lions 🦁 have their VERY FIRST day of school today! 🌟

Tiny backpacks, tiny shoes, and the BIGGEST hearts! We are absolutely melting over how sweet our preschool friends looked walking through our doors this morning! 🥹💛

This is such a special milestone, and we are honored to be part of the beginning of their learning journey!
