This next issue of THE GOOD WORD, VOL. XIV, Issue 1, Sep-Oct 2026 on the Babylonian Conquest of Judah and the Exile of the Prophet Daniel to Babylon covers the years 605-597 BC. This describes the prophecies, events, and response of Judah prior to, during, and after the first major conquest of Judah. The Book of Daniel, often thought of as "non-historical" by academics and many heterodox, is shown to be quite historical in this and the next two issues. The book of Susanna is placed in the appropriate historical context, the curse on Kings Jehoiachim and Jehoiachin by the Prophet Jeremiah is noted and St. Irenaeus of Lyon’s commentary on this curse on Jeconiah (Jehoiakin) recorded in his book Against Heresies, is reviewed.
