šŸ‘ From Calf to Cross šŸ‘

We’re not that different from the ancient Israelites.

They traded the living God for something visible, controllable, immediate.
And if we’re honest… so do we.

God had every right to walk away.
To wipe the slate clean.
But He doesn’t.

He shows mercy.
He stays faithful—even when they (and we) are not.

And that pattern finds its fulfillment in Jesus.

You want something you can see?
Something you can run to?
Something you can cling to?

God gives you Jesus—the true image of the invisible God.

And here’s the difference:

Our idols demand everything from us.
But the true God gives everything for us.

While we’re pouring ourselves out for things that can’t save…
He pours Himself out on the cross to save.

Stop clinging to the calf.
Cling to the cross.

Because only one of them can actually hold you.

🧭 When ā€œNormalā€ Isn’t Neutral 🧭

On Sunday, Pastor Travis pulled back the curtain on something easy to miss: most idol worship doesn’t look like idol worship.

It looks like normal life.
Things we can justify.
Things that even feel right.

Drawing from the Small and Large Catechisms, the definition cuts straight to the heart: an idol is anything you fear, love, or trust more than God—anything you run to for security, identity, or rescue.

And that’s where it gets uncomfortable.

We must ask the question: ā€œWhat am I willing to sin to get or keep?ā€

But naming an idol it isn’t the end—it’s the beginning. The Gospel doesn’t just expose idols… it replaces them with something better.

A God you don’t have to manipulate.
A Savior you don’t have to earn.
A Lord who gave Himself for you—so you don’t have to give yourself to everything else.

What does this mean?
We are to fear, love, and trust God above all things.

šŸŽ The Drama Is Real šŸŽ

People will often see the Gospel in you before they ever hear it from you.

So… now what? What do we do with that reality?

Drawing from Dorothy L. Sayers, the reminder cuts deep: the problem isn’t that the world has heard the Gospel and rejected it—it’s that the world hasn’t really heard it. Not in its fullness. Not as the breathtaking, world-altering drama it actually is.

Because somewhere along the way, we started treating it like background noise. Like information instead of transformation.

But the Gospel isn’t dull.
It’s the most explosive, hope-filled, reality-defining story there is.

And when it’s true—and it is—everything changes.

So now what?

You don’t just explain it.
You live like it’s true.

You move through your life—your home, your work, your conversations—grounded in this reality: Jesus isn’t a good idea or an inspiring figure.

He is Lord.

And when that’s true, your life starts to look different. Not perfect—but marked by grace, truth, courage, and hope.

šŸ”„ With You—All the Days šŸ”„

On Trinity Sunday, Pastor Travis walked through those last words of Jesus we call the Great Commission in Matthew 28.

Jesus has all authority. He calls us to all nations. He invites us to teach and obey all He commands...
.. and that can feel like a lot.

But then comes the promise: ā€œSurely I am with you alwaysā€¦ā€

All the days.

Not just your best days.
Not just your ā€œI’ve got it togetherā€ days.
All the days.

The days you fail.
The days you doubt.
The days you fall short.

He is with you.

With you to forgive.
With you to restore.
With you to remind you whose you are.

Which means this whole life of following Jesus—going, discipling, learning, living—it’s never a solo mission. The One who has all authority is the same One who stays with you… by His Spirit.

One God.
Right there with you.
Every single day.

The Widening Our Welcome construction began just over a year ago... and wow... it’s been a journey.

It has been a blessing to see spaces become accessible, rooms come to life with new purpose, and our campus better reflect the kind of welcome we believe Jesus gives so freely. What once felt tight, outdated, or limiting is slowly becoming open, usable, and ready for ministry in new ways.

Financially, we continue to be incredibly grateful. Because of your generosity, we have raised $604,000 toward our goal of $650,000.

Thank you for your prayers, your patience, and your generosity.
