Ever wonder why we keep showing up on Sunday mornings?
Hebrews 10 doesn't leave it up to feelings. It tells us not to neglect meeting together, but to stir up one another to love and good works. Gathering is how we're built to grow. Not a suggestion, a command, given because God knows we need it.
Here's why. 1 Corinthians 12 says the church is one body with many parts, an eye, a hand, a foot, each one different, each one necessary. No single part can do what the whole body does. You weren't given your faith, your story, or your gifts to keep to yourself. Someone else needs what you carry. And you need what they carry too.
And 1 Peter 2 says something even bigger is going on. Once we weren't a people. Now, in Christ, we are. Church isn't a club you join, it's an identity you're given. You don't just believe in Jesus privately, you become part of a people He's making for Himself.
So we go because we're commanded to. We go because we're one body with parts that need each other. And we go because we're not just individuals who believe the same thing, we're a people God has called His own.
