We are not natural beings, having a spiritual experience. Instead, we are spiritual beings, living a natural experience we call life. I know this sounds like a play on words, but that is what the Adversary of our soul wants us to think. God's Word, as expressed in Paul's letter to the churches in Rome, makes it clear that we are not to walk in the flesh (our sin nature), but we are to walk in the Spirit (our God-given nature). We need to Change Our Focus and live our Christian lives as God intended.

To reach your goal, you must have your eyes and your mind focused on a route to achieve it. You must have a single and clear vision. You must move forward as though there is no Plan B. You must have a mindset that is unwilling to accept defeat, second place, second best, or I’ll do it next time. To reach your goal, you must mentally see yourself now, not just arriving, but operating, living, succeeding and thriving in your future.

One definition of Freedom is “the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.” We think we have freedom but in reality we are slaves to one thing or another. Paul wrote, “Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey— whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?”

There are many people who claim to have salvation, but who don’t seem to know how to live a saved life. In Romans 6:1-4, Paul gives us a set of instructions pertaining to the new life. Today we will learn How Dead Men Should Live. The statement sounds strange, but we will make sense of it as we go deeper in the Word of God.

Humor can be a prelude to faith. That is our sense of the incongruous that can lead us to trust God. We are like the cartoon character Charlie Brown. Each year he tries to kick the football offered by Lucy. Each year she pulls it away just as he is about to kick it. Each year he swears he’ll not try again, and each year he is duped into just one more attempt. In one of these episodes, Charlie Brown is taking the long run toward the ball. As always, he kicks into a blank space left by the ball she has je**ed away. In the final frame, he is lying on his back, and Lucy is looking down into his face saying, “Your faith in human nature is an inspiration to all young people.” Unlike Lucy, God can be trusted to make good on each and every one of his promises, but sometimes you have to wait.

Jesus may never call you to go to the mission field, or a foreign country with the Gospel of salvation, However He does expect you to share the Gospel of salvation where you live, share the Gospel of salvation where you work, share the Gospel of salvation where you shop, share the Gospel of salvation where you work out. He expects us to reach out to all people regardless of their ethnicity, race, past, lifestyle, or socioeconomic status. Jesus doesn’t send us without any resources, nor does He expect us to accomplish this Great Commission in our own power. We are promised Jesus’ manifested presence.

It's time to get busy implementing the Master’s masterplan.

Stop standing around wondering about what will be in the future, and get busy carrying out your commission in the here and now.
Your commission is to be a witness, to tell others about Christ, to tell others to repent, to tell others of the blessings of believing in Jesus Christ, to tell others of what He has done for you. This is how you can do that.
