Good morning everyone,
Out of an abundance of caution due to the forecasted winter weather rolling in this weekend, we are cancelling church service for this coming Sunday, January 25th.
We want to make sure everyone can attend safely and without worry.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
We will return on Sunday, February 1st for regular church service.
Until then please stay safe, warm and dry and keep our unhoused neighbors in your prayers.

Peace & Grace In Christ,
Rev. Ingrid Clark, Pastor

“The light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it.”
This passage from John 1:5 sums up the results of the first Christmas. Even amidst the great deal of darkness in this world, the light of Jesus Christ shines bright. He who experienced all of the darkness, even death itself, and was not overcome now dwells in us as God’s Spirit.
As followers of Jesus, we still live in a world where darkness seems ever-present. This is no surprise to many of us. When we experience suffering in relationships, through disease, pain, loneliness and loss, let us strive to remember the truth found in John 1:5 and have hope that we to can overcome the darkness because Christ is with us! Emmanuel, the Messiah, the Savior of the world, the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting God is with us! Praise be to God this Christmas and always! Amen

The Season of Advent 2025
Advent marks the beginning of the liturgical year. While it expresses the deep longing of all humanity for God, it celebrates the three-fold coming of the Lord: remembering the events that surrounded the Lord’s coming long ago...Emmanuel-God with us, celebrating his coming among us today, and looking forward to his final coming in glory.

Advent is a season of devout and joyful expectation. Its four Sundays highlight our desire and longing for hope, peace, joy and love. It is a time of patient waiting and hopeful preparation for the arrival of Jesus Christ.

This year Advent begins on Sunday, November 30–December 24, 2025.

In response to the catastrophic destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa in the Caribbean so far, UMCOR has awarded solidarity grants to the Jamaica District and the Haiti District of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas. These emergency grants will assist with immediate needs, including food, water, temporary shelter, hygiene kits and over-the-counter medication.

We will remain in communication with the MCCA and other partners in the region as relief efforts continue. We encourage you to continue to pray for those impacted and faithfully support relief and recovery efforts, as food insecurity and the risk of water-borne illnesses will increase in the coming months.

What can you do to respond?
🛐Pray for those impacted.

Almighty God, we come to you praying for your protection for the people of Jamaica and all in the path of Hurricane Melissa. Lord be their refuge and shelter, O Lord, and shield all families, their homes, and the whole country from any harm. Calm the raging storms, and let your peace surround them. Guide them to safety, and help all find comfort in your presence. In Jesus' mighty name we pray.

Here is the Amazon list of supplies needed by our officers and dispatchers. They have been displaced and we want to show them some love in their new/temporary office space.

It will be updated as needs change.
