Calling all high-schoolers interested in science, technology, or sci-fi!
On Saturday, January 21, the Newman Forum’s “Science, Science Fiction, and God” conference will gather hundreds of teens from all over Chicagoland at the University of St. Mary of the Lake to explore questions such as: Is It a Sin to Lie to Siri? If We Discover Aliens, Should We Baptize Them? Is Merlin a Scientist? Is Luke Skywalker a Saint? Meeting with experts in their fields, we will discuss cutting-edge scientific knowledge, great works of sci-fi literature, and how the faith of the church enhances our pursuit of both. This weekend is the first weekend for the Giving Tree Program. If you are interested in purchasing a gift for an individual in need this holiday season, please grab a gift tag following any of the weekend Masses this weekend. Wrap and return the gift (with the gift tag) to the Unity Hall entrance (between the school and church building) before any of the Masses the weekend of December 18th. We are also in need of assistance with organizing the gifts in Joyce hall the morning of December 18th. Adults and teens are both welcome to help. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up using this google form:

This year we are partnering with St. Agatha's for the giving tree program. We will be collecting and distributing over 400 gifts this year. Thank you for being willing to volunteer to help make this wonderful program happen another year.

Today is the first Sunday of Advent. Advent is a time to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. Each week I would like to present you with a challenge to help you do just that.
For this week, let us journey with Mary. She, as Jesus's mother, had much to prepare for. This week, let us journey with her. Pray at least one Hail Mary each day.
