Who work with you and to those who see and receive your work.
May your work never weary you.
May it release within you wellsprings of refreshment, inspiration and excitement.
May you be present in what you do.
May you never become lost in the bland absences.
May the day never burden you.
May dawn find you awake and alert, approaching your new day with dreams,
Possibilities and promises.

Talking about Holy Communion with 4th graders is the best! 😍 We practice an open communion table at Grace, which means that many of our children have been receiving communion since they were old enough to reach a hand out for the bread. But each year, we gather with our 4th graders to learn more about the ordinary, extraordinary meal of celebration Jesus invites to share. So. Much. Joy.

Yesterday in worship we blessed backpacks and all who are beginning a new school year. We blessed a new seminary student, new college students, all kinds of elementary, middle, & high schoolers, as well as these sweet preschoolers. 🏫 🎒 👨‍🎓

If you have a loved one returning to school, you might pray this same blessing over them as they begin a new year:

Holy God,
We lift up these beloved ones today as they step into their new school year.

Bless their excitement!
the joy of friends, new and old,
and the wonder of new knowledge.

Ease their worries when the days feel long and uncertain.

Help them to stretch and grow,
even when something feels new and scary.

Remind them that they are never alone,
for You go with them– into every classroom, playground, lunchroom, and campus.

Keep them grounded in Your love always-
a love that holds them steady,
guides them gently,
and delights in who they are already becoming.

If you've driven by Grace recently, you may have noticed some activity around our building! We're currently in the process of installing new energy-efficient windows - a project our congregation prayerfully discussed and approved at our Annual Meeting in February.

These new windows will help improve the comfort and efficiency of our church while caring for the building that is home to so much ministry. It’s also just so much brighter in here already! We're so grateful for the faithful stewardship and support of our congregation that made this project possible.

Please keep the work team in your prayers as they complete the installation safely and efficiently. They’ve been awesome!

There is something powerful about showing a child that the future is bigger than the challenges they see every day.

While some of our teens serve in home repair this week, the rest of our group is leading day camp with children from across Grundy County. Day camp helps address a critical shortage of safe and affordable childcare. It also provides kids with positive leadership role models, support with hands-on learning, and field trips that open their imaginations to a world that’s bigger than their day-to-day lives.

We are so thankful for the beautiful relationships our teens are building this week. They are embodying the love of Jesus in concrete ways - inspiring joy, building confidence, and reminding them that God has a hope and a future for them.

Did you know that Grundy County faces some of the steepest housing challenges in the state of Tennessee? Many of our neighbors there struggle with severe home repair needs, substandard living conditions, and economic hardship. Part of Grace’s Service-Learning Team is sharing God’s love this week by providing critical home improvements that help these neighbors live with dignity. Please continue to pray for our young people, for the relationships they are building with homeowners, and for the transformation God is already working in our teens’ lives this week! 🔨 🏡 💙

Yesterday began with a group hike to Greeter Falls and ended with worship and a reflection on the light of Christ within us. Our High School service-learning team is ready to share that light with the people of Grundy County, TN today. Please continue to pray for our young people and their adult leaders!
