Last night was service night for The Grove - our Wednesday night ministry with 6th-8th graders. These servant-hearted young people packed food for Grace’s Backpack Buddies program, which ensures that kids whose families are experiencing food insecurity have enough to eat on the weekends when they don’t have access to school breakfasts and lunches. These kids’ love for Jesus inspires their service. We’re so thankful for them, and for the grown-ups who lead them!

How 🍀LUCKY🍀 are we to have such a joyful group of Older People Up to Something?! Last Friday’s celebratory luncheon began with a prayer from the breastplate of St. Patrick:
Christ within me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,

Last night’s Prayer Around the Cross service included a sung Litany of the Nations. One by one, our cantor sang the names of more than 85 countries, along with a petition for all immigrants and exiles. As the name of each country rang out within the space, the congregation responded with a simple, sung refrain: “Peace be yours.” May we be instruments of that peace - peace in our hearts, peace in our homes, peace in our world.
