“IMMEASURABLE LOVE, UNENDING LIFE”

16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
18 There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son.
19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
20 All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.
21 But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.

People often try to protect themselves from their fears by putting their faith in something they do or have: good deeds, skill or intelligence, money or possessions.
But only God can save us from the one thing that we really need to fear-eternal condem-nation.
We believe in God by recognizing the insufficiency of our own efforts to find salvation and by asking him to do his work in us. When Jesus talks about unbelievers, he means those who reject or ignore him completely, not those who have momentary doubts.

Many people don't want their lives exposed to God's light because they are afraid of what will be revealed.
They don't want to be changed. Don't be surprised when these same people are threatened by your desire to obey God and do what is right, because they are afraid that the light in you may expose some of the darkness in their lives.
Rather than giving in to discouragement, keep praying that they will come to see how much better it is to live in light than in darkness.

We would like to invite you and your family for a time of true fellowship.
No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you’re always welcomed and loved.

Come as you are and invite someone to join you.
We'd love to see you this Sunday!

We believe you will be encouraged by God's Word as we gather for a meaningful experience of worshipping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

“THE LANGUAGE OF FAITH”

This I declare about the LORD:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
PSALM 91:2

God is a shelter, a refuge when we are afraid.
The writer's faith in God as protector would carry him through all the dangers and fears of life. This should be a picture of our trust-trading all our fears for faith in him, no matter how intense our fears.
To do this we must "live" and "rest" with him.
By entrusting ourselves to his protection and pledging our daily devotion to him, we will be kept safe.

We would like to invite you and your family for a time of true fellowship.

For she thought to herself,
"If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed."
MARK 5:28

It was virtually impossible to get close to Jesus, but one woman fought her way desperately through the crowd in order to touch him.
As soon as she did, she was healed.
What a difference between the crowds who are curious about Jesus and the few who reach out and touch him!

Today, many people are vaguely familiar with Jesus, but nothing in their lives is changed or bettered by this passing acquaintance.
It is only faith that releases God's healing power.
Move beyond curiosity.
Reach out to Christ in faith.
That touch will change your life forever.

“WHEN STRONG PEOPLE FEEL WEAK”

Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day.
He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die.
"I have had enough, Lord," he said. "Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died."
1 KINGS 19:4

When Elijah said, "Lord, I want to die." God gave him strength to live.
God meets us in our lowest moments.

As the time drew near for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.
LUKE 9:51

Although Jesus knew he would face persecution and death in Jerusalem, he was determined to go there.
That kind of resolve should characterize our lives as well. When God gives us a course of action, we must move steadily toward our destination, regardless of the potential hazards that await us there.

We would like to invite you and your family for a time of true fellowship.

2:1 As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching.
2:7,8 And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind.
Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.
Teach the truth so that your teaching can't be criticized.
Then those who oppose us will be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us.
TITUS 2:1, 7, 8

2:1 Notice the emphasis on "wholesome teaching" in Paul's instructions to Titus.
This is the content of our faith.
But how can you recognize wholesome teaching?
When a teaching is sound, it combines correct knowledge and understanding with consistent practice.
It must be found in the Bible, keep Jesus Christ central, result in consistently good behavior and actions, and promote spiritual health in ourselves and others.
Believers must be grounded in the truths of the Bible so they won't be swayed by the powerful oratory of false teachers, the possible devastation of tragic circumstances, or the pull of emotions.
Those responsible for preaching and teaching must challenge people to understand sound doctrine.
Learn the Bible, study theology, apply biblical principles, and live what you learn.

2:7,8 Paul urges Titus to be a good example to those around him so that others might see Titus's good deeds and imitate him.
Paul's life would give his words greater impact.
If you want someone to act a certain way, be sure that you live that way yourself.
Then you will earn the right to be heard, and your life will reinforce what you teach.

We would like to invite you and your family for a time of true fellowship.

“EVERY BELIEVER HAS A ROLE”

10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts.
Use them well to serve one another.
11 Do you have the gift of speaking?
Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you.
Do you have the gift of helping others?
Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies.
Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
1 PETER 4:10,11

4:10, 11 Our abilities should be faithfully used in serving others; none are for our own exclusive enjoyment.
Some people, well aware of their abilities, believe that they have the right to use their abilities as they please.
Others feel that they have no special talents at all.
Peter addresses both groups in these verses.
Everyone has some gifts; find yours and use them.
Peter mentions speaking and serving.
Paul lists these and other abilties in Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:8-11, and Ephesians 4:11.
Even as you seek to discover your gifts, if you see a need in the church, seek to meet it.
You may find gifts in areas you might not have guessed!

4:11 How is God glorified when we use our abilities?
When we use them as he directs, to help others, they will see Jesus in us and glorify him for the help they have received.
Peter may have been thinking of Jesus' words,
"Let your good deeds shine
out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father" (Matthew 5:16).

We would like to invite you and your family for a time of true fellowship.

“CITIZENS OF HEAVEN LIVING ON EARTH”

But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.
PHILIPPIANS 3:20

Citizens of a Roman colony were expected to promote the interests of Rome and maintain the dignity of the city.
In the same way, citizens of heaven ought to promote heaven's interests on earth and lead lives worthy of heavenly citizenship.
Too many Christians have failed to transfer their citizenship to heaven.
They still seek earthly pleasures and treasures instead of heavenly ones.
Paul told the Colossians to remember that they are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives.
Have you transferred your citizenship?
How are you promoting heaven's interests?

“OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF UNCERTAINTY”

25 "That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are?
27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
28 " And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow.
They don't work or make their clothing,
29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31"So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?'
32These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.

6:25 Because of the ill effects of worry, Jesus tells us not to worry about those needs that God promises to supply.
Worry may (1) damage your health,
(2) disrupt your productivity,
(3) negatively affect the way you treat others, and
(4) reduce your ability to trust in God.
How many ill effects of worry are you experiencing?
Here is the difference between worry and genuine concern—worry immobilizes, but concern moves you to action.

6:33 To "seek the Kingdom of God above all else" means to put God first in your life, to fill your thoughts with his desires, to take his character for your pattern, and to serve and obey him in everything.
What is really important to you? People, objects, goals, and other desires all compete for priority. Any of these can quickly become most important to you if you don't actively choose to give God first place in every area of your life.

6:34 Planning for tomorrow is time well spent; worrying about tomorrow is time wasted. Sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference.
Careful planning is thinking ahead about goals, steps, and schedules, and trusting in God's guidance. When done well, planning can help alleviate worry.
Worriers, by contrast, are consumed by fear and find it difficult to trust God.
They let their plans interfere with their relationship with God.
Don’t let worries about tomorrow affect your relationship with God today.

13But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you.
This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.
EXODUS 12:13

Eating the Passover feast while dressed for travel was a sign of the Hebrews' faith.
Although they were not yet free, they were to prepare themselves, for God had said he would lead them out of Egypt.
Their preparation was an act of faith.
Preparing ourselves for the fulfillment of God's promises, however unlikely they may seem, demonstrates our faith.
