In 2 Samuel 13, Tamar suffered one of the most heartbreaking injustices recorded in Scripture. She was sinned against, shamed, and left carrying wounds she never asked for.
Sadly, there are many people today who know that pain firsthand.
The enemy whispers lies: "You're damaged." "You're dirty." "You're ruined." But those lies do not come from God.
The Bible never places the guilt of another person's sin upon the victim. The shame belongs to the one who committed the evil, not the one who suffered it.
In Revelation, God's people are pictured wearing white robes—not because they never suffered, but because Christ has redeemed them. He takes what sin tried to destroy and makes it new. He takes ashes and gives beauty. He takes brokenness and offers restoration.
If someone else's actions wounded you, hear this truth today: You are not dirty because of what was done to you. You are not beyond healing. You are not forgotten.
Jesus sees every tear, knows every scar, and offers a future untouched by the sins committed against you. One day, every wound will be healed, every wrong will be made right, and every child of God will stand before Him clothed in white.
Your identity is not found in what happened to you.
Your identity is found in Christ.
