Please pray 🙏
Please join us in lifting Pastor James Coffee of the Harbor up in prayer. Below is a post from his wife Rebecca’s social media that gives much of the information.
The Harbor Church does want the public to know their service will still be held tomorrow morning at the regular time of 10 AM. The Volunteer Times will be streaming that service live.
“I’m not usually a facebook poster other than sharing our church’s posts. However, I realize that some of our friends, family, and our amazing church family are concerned due to getting bits and pieces of information. So, I wanted to update with what I know right now, which isn’t much.
James Coffey did have a confirmed stroke yesterday. He was having cognitive difficulty that caused him to say strange things. I thought his blood sugar may have been elevated due to having to get a steroid shot Thursday. Even though I got him to the hospital as fast as I could, they said it wasn’t within the window to administer tPA which busts the clot. He had no other symptoms than misuse of words. They also informed me that it was inoperable because it’s too deep. The ER doctor said some really terrifying things, and we are waiting to see the neurologist. It’s honestly a blur at this point because I felt like I had been punched in the gut. I told James if medicine can’t fix it, prayer works better anyway. So that’s what we will do.
I am thankful for modern medicine. I have friends and family who are wonderful nurses, nurse practitioners, and doctors, but I know they would agree with me on this: God has the final say. I understand what they have said in the natural, but I serve a supernatural God. I have seen him do too much to convince me otherwise. Jehovah Rapha is taking care of James.
I appreciate every call, text, and more importantly, your prayers. I’ve not been able to get back to all of them. If you’ve messaged James, he is unable to coherently respond, but I know he appreciates each one.
What a weekend for this to happen to a pastor. That was my initial thought, but then Holy Spirit reminded me that the finished work on the cross wasn’t just for our salvation. His sacrifice was for our healing, victory, and resurrection power, that same power that will quicken our mortal bodies. What better weekend for a miracle. 🤍✝️”
