Pride can take you high—but never higher then the authority of God!

The deeper I study the Word the more is see how important it is to distinguish between biblical commandments and religious/church traditions.

In the OT, certain objects were anointed with oil because God commanded them to be set apart for worship (the tabernacle, altar, priests garments, sacred items). Oil symbolized consecration, holiness and separation for God’s purposes. This was all under the OT ceremonial system. And context matters greatly here. These were not everyday, common items or belongings.

In Scripture, oil was also used on people. Kings (1 Samuel 16:13), priests, sometimes prophets, and for the sick (James 5:14).

But the oil itself was never “magical”. The power was always, and still is, from God.

Under the New Covenant, we as believers are now the temple of the Holy Spirit. His dwelling place. Our protection is rooted in Christ.

What stands out without a doubt to me is this:
When the NT speaks on spiritual warfare and protection the focus is on resisting the devil, walking in the Spirit, praying without ceasing, standing firm on truth, putting on the full armor of God and submitting to God — Never anointing or “claiming” territory.

When we read the transfiguration on the mount, God declared this concerning His Son Jesus.

“This is My beloved Son, hear Him.”

This matters more than we think.

As the church/body we must be careful not to elevate extra/outside biblical practices to the same level of spiritual necessity when Christ nor the apostles ever instructed the church to practice them. These ideas/practices can lead to superstition and a dilution on the sufficiency of Christ.

The NT emphasis is this:
Christ protects, God guards, the Spirit indwells, and prayer is sufficient.

This is not about attacking people. I believe many believers are sincere and genuinely love God. But our confidence and protection is not found in oils or rituals. But found in Christ and His written word.

There is nothing wrong with symbolism but it must be understood correctly. Oils and rituals have no spiritual power.

“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 ESV

WHAT DOES IT TRULY MEAN TO BE SPIRITUALLY FED?

To be spiritually fed is deeper than just hearing something encouraging or learning new information.

It is about your inner life being nourished, strengthened, and aligned with God.

BEING SPIRITUALLY FED MEANS RECEIVING GOD’S WORD AS LIFE.

Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)

Spiritual food is God’s Word—not just reading it, but:
Understanding it, believing it, and letting it shape your thinking and actions.

Just like food strengthens your body, the Word strengthens your spirit.

IT PRODUCES GROWTH, NOT JUST EMOTION.

Many people think they are spiritually fed because:
The message felt good, the music was powerful, and the moment was emotional.

But true spiritual feeding produces:
•Conviction (you recognize where to change)
•Growth (you actually change)
•Fruit (your life begins to reflect Christ)

“Solid food is for the mature…” (Hebrews 5:14)

Being fed means you are becoming different, not just feeling different.

IT STRENGTHENS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

Being spiritually fed draws you:
Closer to God, into prayer, and into obedience.

It is not just information—it is connection.

“Abide in Me… you will bear much fruit.” (John 15:5)

If you are truly fed, you do not just leave inspired—you leave more connected to Him.

IT ALIGNS YOU WITH GOD’S WILL, NOT YOUR OWN.

Being spiritually fed does not mean:
Getting what you want, hearing what you like, and being constantly affirmed.

It means:
•Being corrected
•Being shaped
•Submitting to God’s will

“Your will be done…” (Matthew 6:10)

True feeding often challenges you before it comforts you.

IT SUSTAINS YOU DAILY, NOT JUST OCCASIONALLY.

You do not eat once a week and expect to stay healthy.

The same is true spiritually:
Sunday-only feeding leads to a weak spirit BUT daily Word and prayer build strength.

“Give us this day our daily bread.” (Matthew 6:11)

Being spiritually fed is a daily lifestyle, not a weekly event.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOU ARE TRULY BEING FED
Ask yourself:
•Am I understanding God’s Word more clearly?
•Is my life actually changing?
•Am I growing in obedience?
•Am I becoming more like Christ?

If yes, you are being fed.

If not, you may be entertained, not nourished.

CLOSING TRUTH:
Being spiritually fed is receiving God’s Word, submitting to it, and being transformed by it through the Holy Spirit.

God bless.

FRIDAY:
The Cross: Love Paid in Full

Scripture: John 19:16–30

Reflection:
Jesus is beaten. Mocked. Crucified.

And then He says:
“It is finished.”

Not “I am finished.”
But the work is finished.

Sin paid for.
Debt canceled.
Grace released.

The cross wasn’t a tragedy.
It was a victory.

Heart Check:
Do I live like my sin is still unpaid… or like I’ve been fully forgiven?

Prayer:
“Jesus, thank You for the cross. Let me never take it lightly. Teach me to live in the freedom You paid for.”

THURSDAY:
Surrender in the Garden

Scripture: Matthew 26:36–46

Reflection:
Jesus, overwhelmed with sorrow, prays:
“Not my will… but Yours be done.”

This is the moment of decision before the cross.

The cross wasn’t forced on Jesus—
He chose it.

Heart Check:
Do I really trust God’s will… even when it costs me?

Prayer:
“Father, I surrender my will, my plans, my desires. Teach me to say, ‘Not my will, but Yours.’”

WEDNESDAY:
The Quiet Betrayal

Scripture: Matthew 26:14–16

Reflection:
While Jesus continued teaching… Judas made a deal.

Betrayal didn’t begin with the kiss.
It began in the heart—long before the act.

Sometimes we think betrayal is dramatic.
But often… it’s subtle compromise.

Heart Check:
Where have I been slowly drifting or compromising?

Prayer:
“God, expose anything in me that is turning away from You. Bring me back before I go too far.”

TUESDAY:
Truth That Confronts

Scripture: Matthew 23

Reflection:
Jesus delivers some of His strongest words—not to sinners, but to the religious.

They looked righteous on the outside…
but inside were pride, hypocrisy, and self-righteousness.

God is not impressed by appearances.

Heart Check:
Am I more concerned with how I look spiritually… than who I really am?

Prayer:
“Lord, strip away hypocrisy. Make my private life match my public faith.”

03/30/2026

MONDAY:
A Cleansed Temple, A Confronted Heart

Scripture: Matthew 21:12–13

Reflection:
Jesus enters the temple… and flips tables.
Why? Because worship had become corrupted—busy, noisy, religious… but empty.

Then comes the uncomfortable truth:
We are now the temple.

What tables would Jesus flip in your heart?

Heart Check:
Is your life filled with activity—but lacking true devotion?

Prayer:
“Jesus, cleanse my heart. Remove anything that dishonors You. Make me a house of prayer again.”

PALM SUNDAY:
The King We Wanted vs. The King We Needed

Scripture: Matthew 21:1–11

Reflection:
The crowd shouted “Hosanna!”—“Save us now!”
They welcomed Jesus as King… but only the kind of King they wanted.

They wanted freedom from Rome.
Jesus came to free them from sin.

They wanted power.
Jesus came in humility.

Within days, the same voices would cry, “Crucify Him.”

Heart Check:
Are you following Jesus for who He is… or for what you want Him to do?

Prayer:
“Lord, correct my expectations. Help me receive You not as I want You to be, but as You truly are—King of my life.”
