Exciting news! Yesterday the colonia road was graded and then caliche was delivered. This will help improve the road in rainy weather. Thanks to all who donated to this project…people in the colonia and those that support Serve & Build Hope Ministry ( the ministry that Bob and I started). May God be glorified!

Fun passing out Christmas gifts and goody bags (chips, cookies, candy) to kids in the colonia today while wishing them all “Merry Christmas.” Always great to see their smiling faces.

On Saturday, the 30th, we were able to help 35 kids with school supplies and backpacks. Also a Bible activity about the lost sheep and snacks were given to each child. Families received a food bag too. Thank you to all who have helped through prayer and donations. A special thank you to Maria Elena Zuñiga for all her help!

Yesterday morning we traveled through the colonia and we’re able to hand out around 40 Christmas gifts and goody bags to the kids. So good to see so many familiar faces and, of course, all the kids’ smiling faces. Thank you to all who contributed to this outreach. ❤️

School started in Mexico on August 26 and we were able to help 32 students with supplies and a backpack. We also gave a Bible craft, snack, rice and beans. Parents and kids were so happy to receive these supplies as paying for tuition, uniforms, shoes, and books puts a real strain on families. Thank you to all who have helped with this outreach. We continue to give God all the glory!

On Thursday, 12/28/23, we loaded up the car and went out into the colonia passing out gift backpacks for the kids and food bags for the families. Blessed by your generosity, families received pancake mix and syrup, beans, rice, Wolf brand chili and other food items. The kids received a string backpack with gloves, hats, socks, Bible craft, small balls, chapstick and a bag of candies, cookies, cereal and candies. May God bless you for your faithfulness as He continues to have us reach out with the Gospel.

Yesterday, despite the heat, we had 34 kids receive a backpack & school supplies with a few more needing to bring a receipt showing tuition has been paid. All kids who came received a bag with cookies, lollipop, and a Bible craft and lesson page about Jesus healing the man who was lowered thru the roof by his friends. Special thank you to Maria Elena Zuñiga for all her help!

Getting into the Christmas spirit with Bob Tompkins ...handed out gifts and candy bags in the colonia.Spent a few weeks collecting items and packing the gift bags and today was the day to spread the Christmas spirit. So many happy faces receiving the message of Christ's birth through a nativity scene craft and wordsearch puzzle. I printed the words to Silent Night too. Thank you to all who contributed to this outreach. May you have a blessed Christmas.

School supplies given to 24 students this year. School starts Monday the 29th for them (except Rosie whose college semester for nursing began at the beginning of August). Thank you to all who have contibuted to this outreach this year and in the past. Students and families need many supplies such as notebooks, calculators, pens, markers, pencils, a backpack, pay tuition ($54 a year for junior high school), and purchase uniforms and dress shoes as well as gym shoes. Your help has put kids through school and have helped them see God in others.

2 hot mornings but 40 happy faces! We were able to fix bikes and give them away thanks to God's provision. Chevo La Sombra Carreon Urbina , Bob Tompkins and I worked at making sure the bikes were in good working condition. We also were able to bless each family with a food bag of beans, rice, and canned goods.

Over the past 2 weeks we were able to pass out Christmas gifts for the kids & teens as well as family food bags. Right before Christmas we had a lot of rain which made our road barely passable. Kids didn’t care that their gifts arrived after Christmas Day. The food bags with beans, rice, chili, veggies, pasta, bullion and hand soap helped while cold weather and holidays cut down available work. Thank you to all who donated for these two outreaches. Spreading God’s blessings during this continued pandemic is so important.
