Listening to this audio while preparing a homemade roast of locally raised beef (thanks Phillips Family Farms!) and internalizing the truth. I’ve always been pretty aware of what we are feeding ourselves and our children, but there’s definitely room for growth.
What’s really hitting me hard though… learning that dementia can be prevented if I take better care of myself. Losing my memory/mind is one of my biggest fears about getting older. Both of my grandmothers spent time in this world not knowing who they were, where they were, how to eat, etc. It plagues me how scary it must be to have people come to visit you saying they are your family, but you don’t know them. And it was equally as heartbreaking to visit my grandmas and see zero recognition in their eyes. I do NOT want that to be my future or the future for my children and grandchildren.
If you have not heard of this book or of the author, you could start by listening to her interview with Tucker Carlson. Or jump right in and get this book. Could this information save you years of health struggles? Quite possibly! Could it help you teach your children or care for your aging parents better/differently? I believe so!
I’ll get off my soap box in a minute… but first, if you’re a friend of mine in person or we are just acquaintances, it doesn’t matter. I care about you and I want everyone to know how to lead a more healthy, vibrant life. Hit pause on the political, hit pause on the pop-culture, hit pause on the sports schedules and the rat race. Read or listen to this book. Let it wash over you and make a change. Even a small one! One small change at a time can lead to big changes that may make an entirely different “someday” for you! ❤️
