Join us tomorrow for the inspirational movie about Bryan Stevenson, the founder and director of the Equal Justice Initiative. 5:30 Potluck dinner (bring something to share if you can); 6:00 Movie (followed by a brief discussion about the work of justice in our nation's judicial system). Friends and neighbors are welcome!

We are a Bridge Builder sponsor for the Kaua`i Pride Parade, this Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m. on Rice Street in Lihu`e. You are welcome to walk with us: just show up between 9 - 9:15 a.m. at the Vidinha Stadium parking lot and look for us in spot #8, along with Kapa`a UCC, Hanapepe UCC, and Lihue Christian Church!

Then swing by the Community Resource area at the Historic County Building where the parade ends: we will have a table to promote our church!

We can definitely use more walkers: the more the merrier!

Tomorrow morning we will dedicate a triptych quilt "Hovering Over the Deep" during our worship service (10:30 a.m.). The quilt will hang in our sanctuary opposite the main doors. Lunch will be served afterwards.

CLOSING OF ALAN AKANA GALLERY!

Please join us for an OPEN HOUSE this Sunday, April 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be refreshments and entertainment, including an updated slideshow of the indigenous flowers of Hawai`i, which features our Kahu's watercolors and his photography of flowers from Hawai`i Island to Kaua`i. Nearly everything in the gallery will be available for sale at least 50% off. The gallery is located at 3281 Waikomo Road in Koloa. Please consider parking at Koloa Union Church on Poipu Road if you are able.

For those of you who won't be on the island on Sunday, Kahu plans to have some time next week to take orders and ship whatever is remaining after the open house.

Proceeds from the gallery support the care and maintenance of the Smith Memorial Parsonage.

Alan Akana Gallery is one of Hawaii's premiere art galleries and is located in Koloa, Kauai. The gallery features vibrant watercolors of Hawaii's flowers by local Kauai artist Alan Akana, who has painted the flowers of Hawaii since 1993.

KOLOA UNION CHURCH INVITES OUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS to a screening of the documentary "Public Defender" on Wednesday, June 25. Come between 5:30 and 6:00 for dinner. (Bring something to share if you can.) The movie will be preceded by a note from Andrea Kalin (writer, producer and director of the film), who has ties to Koloa, and followed by a discussion.
