Most people aren’t leaving the Church because they lost their faith.
They’re leaving because they had questions, but were afraid to ask.
We forget that Jesus didn’t run from hard questions. He welcomed them.
In fact, He was asked 183 questions during His time on Earth—and He only directly answered 3.
Three.
The rest?
He responded with… more questions.
Because faith isn’t a formula. It’s not certainty.
It’s not mastering a theology textbook.
It’s relationship. It’s tension. It’s trust.
Isaiah 55:8–9 says His thoughts are higher than ours. That means we’re not going to figure Him out. That was never the assignment.
But curiosity? The courage to just... ask. That’s sacred ground.
In the film Conclave, there’s this stunning moment where the priest says:
“Doubt is the opposite of certainty—not the opposite of faith. Faith and doubt need each other. Because where there is certainty, there is no room for faith.”
I keep reminding myself that Jesus only answered 3 questions.
It's not about the answer. It's about our faith.
It's about admitting that not one of us has it all figured out
... but we trust, love and worship the One who does.
Because the more my faith has matured, the more I’ve realized that certainty is a cheap, often false substitute for trust.
Certainty doesn't hold your hand when you're grieving.
Certainty doesn't embrace you when you're feeling lonely or rejected.
Certainty doesn't sit beside you in silence when hope feels far away.
But faith does. Love Does. God does.
Jesus never said the world would know us by our airtight theology.
He said they’d know us by our love for one another (John 13:35).
And love makes room. Love listens.
Love lets you say, “I don’t know, but I’m still here.”
So if you have questions… good.
That means your faith isn’t dead. It’s wrestling.
It’s ALIVE.
And God can handle your wrestling match.
Don’t let anyone ever shame you for asking the questions.
Instead, find a community that loves you enough to ask them with you.
And sometimes "I don't know, but does it really matter that I don't?" is the perfect answer.
We don’t need all the answers to follow God.
You just need the courage to keep showing up.
You got this. 👊🏻
