Matt B. didn’t know a lot about Y-12 before joining the UPF Project more than a year ago, but was impressed that safety was a big focus. Now, as a 2nd-year Ironworker apprentice, he has a sense of accomplishment.

Some guys work a job. Local 384 ironworkers build a legacy.

Cranes, steel, concrete — the structures you put up don't come down. They stand long after you're gone. Your kids drive past them. Your grandkids will too.

That's what this trade is. And that's what being part of Local 384 means. You're not just showing up to collect a check.

You're building something that outlasts you — with a crew that actually has your back while you do it.

If you're a skilled ironworker in East Tennessee and you're not in the union yet, you're leaving more than money on the table. You're leaving this.

Guessing on manpower costs you more than the hire.

Unqualified workers slow your site down. They create rework. They create liability. They cost you time you don't have.

Local 384 ironworkers come trained, dispatch-ready, and certified. When you call the hall, you get experienced members — not bodies pulled off a board.

We have work in East Tennessee moving right now. If you're a GC or superintendent who needs skilled ironworkers on short notice, this is the call worth making. The link's in the bio.

He coaches his daughters' softball team on weekends. Because he's home.

Dwayne Fulbright has been with Local 384 since 2017. He stays in his area. He doesn't travel unless he wants to. And when work is there — it's there.

"I'll be able to retire at a decent age where I can still get around, still take my kids to the lake, still coach softball. Just take care of my family."

That's not luck. That's what a union card, a real pension, and steady local work actually looks like at home.

If you're an experienced ironworker in East Tennessee, the hall has work — and a future — waiting for you.
