It has been a great journey with SCE. I have learned a lot about doing ministry and am thankful for Dan and the Board. You can follow the Family Bible Church page for updates on the church plant in Knoxville. Otherwise, I am also thankful for everyone here who has been praying for us.

Please keep the prayers going as we wait on direction from the Lord on future ministry opportunities and direction. With this announcement though, I will be shutting this page after June 1, at least until we have direction on if and what the next phase in our ministry will be.

Thanks

Be praying for Family Bible Church as we move towards graduation. Additionally, pray as we continue to move forward in our discussions on a potential new meeting location that will provide us the additional space we need to, expand our ministries, and to move into the Halls Community!

Come join us if you are in the Powell/Halls community on Tuesday nights.

Stay tuned...important update coming soon about my ministry in 2026.

Well, 2025 has come to a close. It was a good year, but not without its challenges for both SCE and our family. The year ended with one of the biggest challenges of the year for our family. However, as we recover, we are praying for healing and big changes in 2026.

Family Bible Church is now in our 5th year. My prayer is to see the church grow to the point of graduation from a mission status church. This is something that has an additional prayer need built into it. We are in need of a new location to minister to a growing body. I, along with the other men sharing the responsibility of pastoring the church, am preparing to take a more strategic approach to reaching our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

SCE is going through some changes of its own, including a change in leadership as Dan steps aside to take a role that focuses on ministering to pastors and churches as the SCE Pastoral and Church advocate. As such, the SCE board will be searching for a replacement. Another part of those changes is related to my role. My prayer is that God provides the needed support to perform my responsibilities in a full-time capacity as a field representative.

Join me in prayer for.....a new property for Family Bible Church to meet the needs of our current ministries, along with providing room for growth...a strategic vision to reach the people of our community to advance the local cause of Christ and to build His church...financial provision to move into a full-time field representative role with Southeast Church Extension...churches to present the ministry to and to partner with in the work of SCE.

Last week I posted on the rising acceptance of female pastors in churches. I ended that post that things are not always as they appear.

What I meant by that is, while it is true that we are seeing a rise in the acceptance of women pastors, it is NOT something that we need to worry or be anxious about. In the final chapters of Job, he is being questioned by God about his knowledge and understanding. The reason....God's knowledge is SOO MUCH higher than Job's (See Isa 55:8-9). God has created all things. God sustains all things. God knows all things. This current trend is NOT something that caught God off guard. It is NOT something that came as a surprise to Him.

God has got this, and it is our job to trust Him and to be faithful with where he has put us. Yes, be aware. Yes, exercise influence where you can. But we do not need to be anxious and worry.

We need not have a knee-jerk reaction to a cultural trend. If your pastor or church is heading down that path, by all means speak up and speak out. If there is no change back towards biblical orthodoxy, then it probably isn't a real church of Jesus Christ, and it may be time to find one that not only teaches the Bible, but one in which the Word of God is alive, active, and powerful.

Matthew 7:13-14
Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

God's children will be found on the narrow path, not the multilane highway!

Today I listened to a snippet of a Dr. John MacArthur sermon on women's roles in the church. He was sharing stats about how, at various levels, the American people and "church" are accepting and open to women pastors.
It got me thinking about the impact that the modern feminist movement and the sexual revolution have had on the current state of the church. We currently see a major gap in biblically qualified pastors in our churches. There are way more churches in need of a shepherd than there are shepherds available.
As a result of the two movements above, we have men replacing women in temporal things, i.e., sports. Yet in the realm of eternal things, we have women replacing men in the pulpit.
Just something for the TRUE CHURCH to consider these things. To the REAL UNDERSHEPERDS out there, what are you doing to protect your flock?
I have more I want to say, but I will save that for a follow up post.
Just remember, things are not always as they appear...
