Last week I posted on the rising acceptance of female pastors in churches. I ended that post that things are not always as they appear.
What I meant by that is, while it is true that we are seeing a rise in the acceptance of women pastors, it is NOT something that we need to worry or be anxious about. In the final chapters of Job, he is being questioned by God about his knowledge and understanding. The reason....God's knowledge is SOO MUCH higher than Job's (See Isa 55:8-9). God has created all things. God sustains all things. God knows all things. This current trend is NOT something that caught God off guard. It is NOT something that came as a surprise to Him.
God has got this, and it is our job to trust Him and to be faithful with where he has put us. Yes, be aware. Yes, exercise influence where you can. But we do not need to be anxious and worry.
We need not have a knee-jerk reaction to a cultural trend. If your pastor or church is heading down that path, by all means speak up and speak out. If there is no change back towards biblical orthodoxy, then it probably isn't a real church of Jesus Christ, and it may be time to find one that not only teaches the Bible, but one in which the Word of God is alive, active, and powerful.
Matthew 7:13-14
Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
God's children will be found on the narrow path, not the multilane highway!
