I've been intentionally off social media for a while now tending to personal life speed bumps we all must get through at some point, but we all do what is needed to maintain sanity and movement forward as we all appreciate that grace one's peers offer each other....especially as the holidays creep upon us.

That said, Jason Amos Oaks and I had worked this year towards a fall collaboration show that just couldn't come together swiftly enough to pull off good work before my own individual show for Christmas. So we had to punt all collaboration work out to the early spring. (we'll have a garden party type show when the work is truly ready and not rushed and post it here once we're ready....likely not until March or so)

So that leaves the only holiday art I have to offer folks this Christmas. This year is all the artwork I did sitting at my grandparents table, the last year we'll be doing that sadly. But for the first time in a long, long time I get to be the first Friday artist at Rala for December instead of November. I'm so excited I finally get to be an active part of the Knoxville holiday art scene in person again.

Most past shows I list them all out with individual images with pricing and dimensions but half my collection are in the throes of being properly framed at the moment so this image displays the other half the collection that's finished. I felt I had to get something out in front of folks so you'll know what art we have to offer for the season and where it'll be. We'll have about 35 original pieces, with many smaller pieces in glorious old frames which most folks request for the holidays. We don't have as many as I usually can develop but we do have flying castles as well as cathedrals so come see me if you can after you've waved at Santa.

Oh.....also we printed a new round of KNOXVILLE t-shirt. I drew this little number 25 years ago by memory, admittedly drunk that shows my view of our downtown as if Knoxville covers the globe. This time we printed an off-white shirt with all black ink-scratching the orange text (believe it or not, the most requested thing about the shirt in the past: all one color). I believe Nanci and the girls already have the shirts at the shoppe but the original art won't make it to the store until Monday the 27th and I will be in person at the Rala Friday the 1st of December if you can come see me the same night as the Christmas parade, 5:00-close.

Happy holidays just the same, if I don't get to see you.

Jason and I wanted to thank all those who came out on that lovely Friday for our IV showing of our collaboration work. The diversity of folks who visited, shared some wine with us, and mingled with others was just delightful. Since Jason is moving to Los Angeles soon we thought we'd keep the pieces that don't have homes out in the public eye in case folks who couldn't make the last show still might crave adopting one of our pieces. Due to Jason being literally on the other side of the nation soon, our next show will probably not be until end of fall just before the holidays. It's going to take even longer to produce more art now. Private message me here on Facebook if you're interested in any.

I couldn't drive a nail in the original studs in this house. We saved and reused nearly every one of them during the gutting of this house and it's subsequent restoration. Let us not waste this excellent wood. Everything seems to just get more and more expensive yet cheaper and cheaper.

Interesting.
