Y'ALL!!!

The First Christian Letters broke into Amazon's top-100 books on Paul's letters (and the top 10,000 in all books, which isn't as impressive). I'd love to get to top-10. But mostly, I want to thank you for supporting my work by buying this book. I am truly humbled, and I hope you find this book both interesting and helpful.

Question: Where do used books come from? How are there ALREADY used copies of this available on Amazon?!

Paul's letters to the Thessalonians are the earliest surviving Christian documents. They are also among the most easily overlooked parts of the New Testament. What could these short, simple letters possibly have to say to a world caught in the throes of racial discord, political polarization, fea...

Before Newton wrote ‘Amazing Grace,’ or Wilberforce petitioned Parliament, or Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence, Granville Sharp was fighting slavery.

This is an interesting article about New Testament scholar Mark Goodacre.

This is part two of a two-part series; last week we looked at what biblical research is and why it matters—this week we’re looking at how it’s conducted. “Sometimes I have to take a running start to the word ‘religion,'” says Mark Goodacre, chair of the religious studies department at Du...

Evangelical thinker Ron Sider passed away recently. I can still remember reading his book RICH CHRISTIANS IN AN AGE OF HUNGER as an undergraduate student at Johnson Bible College and finding it to be eye-opening.

Author of “Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger” argued poverty was a moral issue.

Johnson University Florida students Colin MacDonald and Leah Hardin defended their paper this weekend at the Stone-Campbell Journal Student Paper Competition. Their paper, "Satan as Agent of YHWH: Theodicy in the Divine Council Scenes in the Prologue of Job" was sponsored by Dr. Rob Fleenor, professor of OT at JUFL. One judge noted that their paper "thinks carefully and honestly about God’s role in Job’s suffering" and "issues a call to OT scholars for further research." Congratulations to these students and their sponsor for their work and recognition in the serious study of Scripture.
