When we stop believing the false doctrine that being a Christian will make you healthy and wealthy, and start learning about the fall, depravity, and terribleness of sin against a holy holy holy God, everything you suffer will make sense. This world is not our home Christian. Don't settle here, don't build here, we are passing through. Our treasures are laid up on the other side. That does not mean God's goodnesses are not here. But it's not about us. It's about all glory be to God. What an awesome plan of salvation. Though He slay me yet will I serve Him. He owes me nothing , yet provides every day. New joys ,new mercies ,new strength. All to Him I owe.

A theology of martyrdom is not a prominent feature in western Christian thought. Taking a stand for truth that leads to persecution is not a primary topic of conversation in our churches. Yet we have allowed dangerous unbiblical heresies of prosperity , lasciviousness, and a God who does not judge , to invade our homes and churches far more than we would like to admit. We need to repent of our safety and security in our homes and In our churches because they are far more American than they are biblical. We are far more about preservation in this country than we are about the exaltation of our Lord. We need to learn how to lived based on how Reformers died. - Reformation Month
