Mark 8:36-37 NLT

36 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? 37 Is anything worth more than your soul?

Many people spend all their energy seeking pleasure. Jesus said, however, that a world of pleasure centered on possessions, position, or power is ultimately worthless. Whatever you have on earth is only temporary; it cannot be exchanged for your soul. If you work hard at getting what you want, you might eventually have a "pleasurable" life, but in the end you will find it hollow and empty. Are you willing to make the pursuit of God more important than the selfish pursuit of pleasure? Follow Jesus, and you will know what it means to live abundantly now and to have eternal life as well.

"Let's Relax Some More!"

The armor of God isn’t a literal, iron-made armor that we have to wear every day. No. The “armor of God” refers to the characteristics, virtues and traits God has equipped us with to defeat the enemy’s attempts to bring us down. The enemy is on a mission to discourage and way-lay as many of God’s children as possible by “putting on the armor of God” we keep our minds and hearts ready for any trap or weapon we may come across.

Let's Pray to The Father!

Dear God, I am aware that the enemy tries, day in and day out, to get me to doubt you and to fear him. Thank you, Lord, for your armor which comes in the form of salvation, righteousness, truth, the word of God, the gospel of peace, and faith. I know that I am able to withstand any attack of the enemy because you have prepared me accordingly. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
