Thank you to Samantha for getting the video started after technical difficulties, my 1 year old, prevented the recording from starting on time.

Here is an approximate read through of what you missed before the video starts.

So, this Friday, I am super excited that we will be having our first concert. I don’t know how many people will be there, but I hope it is a lot. We will be having a free dinner before the concert, and so we need to make sure we are prepared. So, the closest story I found in the Bible is Jesus feeding the crowd of 5,000 men plus women and children. I don’t know how many hamburgers and hot dogs it takes to feed that many people, but I feel confident that we do not have enough grills.
It may not be reasonable for us to expect to feed 5,000 people this Friday, but the disciples also thought it was unreasonable to expect them to feed 5,000 people. Now I do hope we will have a record crowd come to church for the first time this week, but it will probably be a far lower number. At least for now. There may be a day where we feed 5,000 people though. Between Whiteman and K**b, there are over 5,000 people here. If you make a circle just a couple miles bigger you have ten thousand people. You go another mile or two and there is 20,000 people. And all of them need to hear the good news of Jesus.
Witnessing to 20,000 people sounds impossible. The crowd in our passage today has Jesus ministering to that many people at one event though. I can’t see us ever ministering to that many people, but how many people can God see us ministering too? He just gave us the 15 acres across from the high school. What is his plan for that? How many children can we raise to follow Christ? How many families can be healed by Jesus? I don’t know what the God of impossible can do, but I am excited to see, and I am excited to read today about the impossible. So, let us turn in our Bibles to Mark 6:30-44.
Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
32 So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. 33 But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. 34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So, he began teaching them many things.
35 By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. “This is a remote place,” they said, “and it’s already very late. 36 Send the people away so that they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.”
37 But he answered, “You give them something to eat.”
They said to him, “That would take more than half a year’s wages[e]! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?”
38 “How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Go and see.”
When they found out, they said, “Five—and two fish.”
39 Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. 41 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate and were satisfied, 43 and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. 44 The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand.
