Spring has sprung, and fresh weather means fresh flowers!

Thank you to Sarah Ward, Linda Lashbrook, Lisa Hall, and their group of volunteers who planted flowers at the entrances and the urns.

Thank you to the families and loved ones of those buried at Glen Cove who dedicate resources and memories to adorning graves.

And thank you to our grounds crew for maintaining our cemetery and creating a beautiful, peaceful environment for our community.

Despite rain delays, landscaping in Memorial Circle at Glen Cove Cemetery is nearing completion. Smoot's Lawn Care is designing this beautiful area which holds the first of four columbaria.

Columbariums are structures designed to house cremation urns in individual niches. Memorial Circle in located in the center of Glen Cove where sections 6, 8, 9, & 10 converge.

Memorial Circle was built in 1940-41, by the The Independent Order of Odd Fellows. An unexpected surprise was uncovered during landscaping--a beautiful flagstone path encompasses the interior of the Circle! During the past 85 years, the path had become completely covered with dirt and grass.

We invite you to visit anytime and especially this Memorial weekend as we honor those who have served our country.

Memorial Circle in Glen Cove Cemetery is in the beginning stage of a make over. The overgrown yews were removed to reveal a lovely flagstone fence. Conner Smith (on right), owner of a local tree cutting service, recently ground out the stumps which will allow the Glen Cove Heritage Foundation to begin landscaping.

Memorial Circle was created in 1940-41 by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The vision of The Glen Cove Heritage Foundation is to transform this area into a welcoming, space for quiet reflection and remembrance.

Two benches flank the first of 4 columbaria which provides individual niches for the internment of cremated remains.
