Everyone, we are going to Lumberton this Saturday 7/21/18. Hurricane Matthew home rebuild projects are still going on...think about that for a second, this was 2 years ago almost and people still are displaced from their homes. We will leave at 6:30am from Bethlehem Baptist Church in Knightdale and return around 6pm the same day...please come if you are able(also please respond to this post saying "I'm in") and if not please at least share this post!

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunity! Saturday June 2nd, Volunteers will be departing for a 1 day trip to Lumberton for reconstruction efforts ongoing from Hurricane Matthew. What an exciting day this past Saturday for our BBC Volunteer's building a home for a family in need through Habitat for Humanity!!! A big thank you to all who could help! Everyone, we have an immediate outreach opportunity to assist those in Texas. BBC Volunteers can participate in to help with relief from Hurricane Harvey in the Houston Area. This will be a quick turn around time as the items we collect will be on the way to Houston next Friday 9/8. Susan is going to set up boxes in the back foyer of Bethlehem Baptist Church (on the Fellowship Hall side) and also in the foyer of the Christian Life Center. The boxes and tubs will be labeled for hurricane relief.

There is an immediate need for the following supplies to aid in the clean up:



Utility Knives

Contractor trash bags

5 gallon buckets

Mops, Brooms

Dishwashing gloves

Sponges, Scouring Pads

Dust masks

Insect repellant

Liquid laundry detergent (25oz-50oz)

Scrub Brushes

Shovels, Rakes

Liquid household cleaner (12oz-26oz, no spray)

Work Gloves

Air Freshener, Fans

Sledgehammers and crowbars

Everyone, as we all know to well, this Hurricane is going to have a lasting effect for years to come. There is going to be an immediate need as well as ongoing support. As Christians, we need to do all that we can to support our brothers and sisters in Texas. We will be having a meeting next week to discuss a possible team going to Texas to volunteer with the recovery efforts. More details will follow so please check back soon!

NC Baptist Disaster Relief is standing by ready to assist in Hurricane Harvey response and recovery. Mobile kitchens, shower units, laundry units, bunk units, generators and more are available as needed. Pray for those affected. Pray for the volunteers that will help in a great time of need.
